I saw Makayla for a blowout for a wedding I was attending. My appointment was at 10 AM and the blowout lasted throughout the evening. She had me pin the curls and it worked very well!
First, my hair was so stiff and stringy and look like it had only been blow dried. When I went to pay it unexpectedly cost $20 extra. They also changed my stylist when they changed my appointment time. I was a very satisfied customer up until now. Can’t say I’ll be back. Edit: I added a picture of a previous blowout at blowout junkie for comparison.
I wish I lived here so I could go all the time and or please open one in Florida! I have been to their competition and there is clearly to competition or comparing the two. Blowout Junkie is 100/10! My hair has NEVER looked so good. Got it done for a friends wedding—along with my eyes (brows, fake lashes and eyeshadow). Everyone here is absolutely amazing at their job. One of the girls at the wedding had gone to dry bar and after seeing her results—I was really, really happy I found Blowout Junkie. Would come back the next time I’m in Chicago.
Had a great experience with Mikayla in the West Loop location. She asked me all the right questions on how I like my hair down to the details of how much conditioner to use and how much product I want in my hair. Her vibe was so chill and she gave a great scalp massage, I almost fell asleep lol. The weather was brutal when I left so I did end up touching up my hair a little when I got home, but I left the salon with my hair smelling amazing and feeling refreshed. Will definitely be back. :)
Very disappointed with this location. I booked an appointment for festival braids, which is advertised on their Instagram. I called ahead to confirm the stylist I booked with was able to braid feed-in colored extensions for festival braids and I was told yes. And I was informed of the additional price, which I agreed to. When I arrived, the stylist had no idea I wanted festival braids, even though that’s what I booked and confirmed day of. She was then unsure if they even had the festival braid colored extensions at the salon. The stylist found some (at least so I thought) and braided my hair but not in festival braids. I left with two braids with two pieces of clipped in extensions… not even remotely close to the service booked. I asked to not pay for this, but was still charged anyway. If you cannot complete the service booked that you advertise, it’s not that difficult to tell me you can’t do it rather than waste my time and money. First picture is the advertised arrive. Second is what I left the salon with.
