I am leaving this review for the bowling only, as I did not visit other parts of the business operation. This business has two types of bowling: regular or traditional bowling, and SPARK bowling. Regular or traditional bowling is, you guessed it, regular, what you would expect. SPARK bowling is advertised as a state-of-the-art bowling experience with some new games and lights that shine down from the roof, so your ball gets points when it rolls over certain items. The only thing that is state-of-the-art is the highway robbery that is being committed on you. The games do not have a clear set of instructions on the touchscreen. So you pick a game and wonder how to play, well, this marvelous state-of-the-art machine lacks some basic features any programmer would think to have intuitively available for new users. The games were horrible, and the ball rolling over some projected light didn't give me the Star Trek Enterprise technology feeling. It gave me the Dad could rig this up in his garage feeling. Families in Calgary are struggling, and sometimes Mom and Dad or partners like to treat their kids to a good experience, and bowling is a great one at a reasonable price. Well, Friday to Sunday you are forced into SPARK all for an astronomically jacked up price of $69.99 for 60 minutes of bowling pretax. Versus the traditional/regular $49.99 for 60 minutes of bowling pretax. I would be ashamed of myself if I were in charge of this portion of the business. The great news is that the people are voting with their dollars, and the place was empty in the bowling alley, as many were probably thinking I am not paying $70 plus for an hour of bowling. Anyone with some business savvy and a heart would run the traditional bowling option at all times. So there I am with my girlfriend, and we have the entire bowling alley to ourselves. Fine, you got me on the $69.99, and I will lose sleep over this for a night or two. However, what a fabulous treat, it looks like I've bought the entire alley up for the two of us: excellent optics and mood setting. Wait, mood spoiler, empty alley, and what do they do, put a family of eight beside us with four children. Easier to do your job that way and not think, hey, it's empty, let's keep the family clear of the dating couple. So, no sense of your customers and genuine care for them. A busy night, I get it, pack the sardine money paying losers in. When there is us, and this family, and that is it, and no one is coming in anytime soon, you could have used a little bit of foresight. I have to give credit where due; the staff were friendly and smiling, the equipment was new, and everything was nice and clean, so kudos there. Also, it was marketed as the SPARK experience, and you have SPARKED my bitterness towards business owners who go over the top when it comes to taking advantage of the hard-working families of Calgary. Until the Bernie Madoff Bowling SPARK experience is SPARKLED out, I will discourage others from attending the bowling alley in this wonderful neighborhood filled with hard-working folk. I am all for businesses and entertainment, but if you market this as a new fantastic experience and give anything far from it, and individuals have to pay extra, guess what, bad review.

This place is an absolute rip-off. Their website and front counter clearly show $75.99 for 90 minutes of bowling, yet once you’re ready to pay they suddenly claim a normal Wednesday is a “holiday” because of school break and jack the price up to $106.99. That’s not a policy — that’s deceptive. The staff were unfriendly when I asked simple questions, and the manager was completely useless. The attitude toward customers is terrible, and the pricing feels deliberately misleading. I won’t ever go back, and I’ll make sure others know to avoid this location. If you value honesty and straightforward pricing, stay far away.
