Halfway through the 200-hour Hatha and Restorative Yoga Teacher Training at Laura Gilmore Bristol School of Yoga, I already feel incredibly blessed and grateful to be part of this journey. What this training offers goes so far beyond anything I imagined when I signed up. The course is rich and wide-ranging, covering yoga history and philosophy alongside anatomy, biology, neuroscience, physiology, chanting, and so much more — all held in a way that feels grounded, accessible, and deeply human. Every weekend leaves me feeling nourished, challenged, and inspired in equal measure. What makes this experience so special, though, is the connection. Sharing this space and journey with Laura Gilmore, the other teachers, and my fellow trainees has been incredibly meaningful. There’s so much care, generosity, and authenticity in the way this training is held, creating a real sense of safety and belonging — honestly, it makes me want it to go on forever. At a point in my life when I needed it most, this training has arrived as a real gift. I already know this experience will stay with me long after the course ends, and I feel so grateful to be walking this path alongside such genuine, wonderful people.

I completed my Vinyasa and Yin 200 hour at BSY recently and have just taught my first class there. The booking process was easy , the studio is beautiful, light, warm and inviting - just a perfect venue for yoga. Many of my students had not visited before, and were super-impressed with the venue. Would highly recommend :)

I have recently completed the 200 hour training course, and am coming back in October to start the 300 hour course. I was not ready to say goodbye to The Bristol School of Yoga. The 200 hour course content was interesting and broad ranging. A variety of tutors shared the delivery of the course, which was great as we were able to experience a number of different teaching styles. I feel confident in my ability to deliver effective and safe yoga classes, and have a deeper understanding of the history and legacy of yoga. I 100% recommend this course to any aspiring yogis.

I finished my training with Bristol School of Yoga 2 years ago now but wanted to leave a review because I have been teaching non-stop ever since. I have built my own studio and retreat space and my business goes from strength to strength every year. My classes are generally full, I rarely have spaces, and when I do, I welcome new people in. My day retreats also sell out. I honestly believe this is because the training gave me the belief to show up as myself and never sell myself short. I let people see who I am, and those who connect with that stay with me. Some of my students have been coming for years, and word of mouth keeps bringing new ones in. I highly recommend YTT's with this school - Laura, Ashley and Kate were the best teachers.

I’ll never forget the connections I made training at BSY with Laura Gilmore. I stepped into this group not knowing what to expect at all having. Since then I’ve gone on to do my advanced YTT with Laura. I’ve made friends for life on both courses. Both of which attracted a variety of people from all walks of life. In the 200 HR it feels like you make life long connections and I still regularly see and talk to some of the people on my course. If you want a YTT that is in-depth and teaches you how to be a great Yoga teacher then this is the course for you. Learning the intricacies of teaching skills and styles was very important and being able to come back to Laura whenever I needed a mentor has really helped me along the way. Going on to do my 300 HR straight away was slightly overwhelming but I felt I really needed that extra year of studying, stability and support whilst I integrated with the process of being a teacher. I had stage freight a lot in the first year and my own complex health issues to work with so being able to come into a class of more experienced Yoga teachers who were reassuring, supportive and inclusive made the world of difference. Being a survivor of extreme & prolonged trauma I have to deal with direct discrimination by the system and exploitation and abuse on what seems like a day to day basis. It was really reassuring for my nervous system and important for my social integration and personal development to be in a room full of people who appreciated and respected me for who I was and saw past my social status and the things that had happened to me and saw me for me. For the 200HR YTT I got quite a large bursary & extra support covering the costs so if it wasn’t for any of that I’d never have been able to do the course. It was an extremely generous bursary. Having Laura as a mentor and friend has meant the world to me and I will never forget the people I met training here and the memories we’ve made together. Laura Gilmore started off as my YTT teacher but we ended as very great friends. I started my first YTT very scared of people and society and left with a whole new family. 🙏
