Outdoor patio seating. Simple menu, but had plenty of options Beef "The Deck" , chicken "Cocky Deck" or fish "Deck Fillet". I had the Deck with onion rings and that was tasty especially with a side of the cilantro jalapeno ranch.
Smashburgers here come out hot, juicy, and full of flavor, with plenty of options whether you go classic, load up with caramelized onions and pickles, or try the mushroom burger that surprises even non-vegetarians. Fries and onion rings are crisp and not greasy, the buns taste fresh, and the little deck seating gives it an easygoing outdoor vibe. Prices feel reasonable for what you get and the staff keeps things friendly, making it the kind of spot you end up wanting to come back to.
Just left the place and unfortunately the food didn’t hold up. The meat itself had good flavor, but the bottom bun was completely saturated by the time it reached us, basically our thumbs were holding it together. The patty and bun ended up translucent, thin, and doughy, which made it hard to enjoy. My daughter ordered the chicken sandwich and it came out burnt, which was disappointing. The bright spot was the service, the girl working was attentive and friendly, so I don’t want to knock that. Otherwise, though, the experience was pretty rough, especially since this spot is close to my house and I had high hopes. For context, I don’t usually leave negative reviews just to complain, places like Rocky Burger, The Waterfront, and Mastif have all been excellent. I hope the owners see this as constructive feedback, because I’d really like to come back and have a better experience next time.
If you’re hunting for the best smashburger in San Diego, Burger Deck is it. We tried The Deck, Deck Fillet, Dirty Deck, and Dirty Deck Fries—and honestly, everything was on point. The burgers were crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. Simple ingredients, but done perfectly. One thing I really appreciated: no post-burger bloat. I left full but not uncomfortable, which never happens! My kids loved theirs too (which says a lot). Also, don’t skip the spicy aioli—it’s the perfect balance of heat and flavor. The outdoor seating is super chill with an amazing view—perfect spot to relax and enjoy your meal. Ratings: Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 We’ll absolutely be coming back.
