I had an excellent experience at Carewell Urgent Care in Cambridge. The receptionist was friendly & professional. My wait wasn’t long. The assistant was kind & gentle. The Doctor that treated me, he was attentive, thorough and provided me with quality medical care.
This is the closest Carewell location to me so it became my default for that reason, but we consistently receive terrific care by the staff here so they would have become my default anyway. Wait times are never awful, the online check-in is so convenient and easy, and we never leave with any lingering questions about whatever it was that brought us in. I've only ever encountered friendly staff and physicians at this location, and we appreciate that so much
Front desk hostess lacks compassion. When working in this type of industry, with sick patients, some understanding and helpful tone is required. Have been waiting all day to get a xray and was told no radiologist was on site. This should be communicated in some way.
I had a text confirmation of my appointment at 9:20AM that I even went so far as to confirm by phone call the day previous. I did the online pre-registration, which was also confirmed. I arrived for my appointment and the receptionist rudely stated I did not have one and that it was canceled. I explained that it had not been, I had received no such information, and that I even had confirmed with the receptionist yesterday. She might as well as spit in my face. She didn’t apologize for whatever clerical error that occurred, nor did she offer to reschedule, or offer a walk-in appointment as an alternative. I came in with a potentially broken knee - so it was a big deal to be shoo’d away like a pest when, as far as I was aware, I had an appointment scheduled for an urgent matter! I walked away without contest, stunned. I had read in reviews previously that they had atrocious service, but was hoping to luck out - as it’s the only urgent care in my area that takes my insurance. I’ve never been treated so poorly at an urgent care. I highly recommend taking the extra drive to avoid such unprofessional care.
This place is terrible. We came here because my son needed stitches removed. The receptionist wore headphones and wouldn't respond. When our first appointment came around, she said we hadn't completed the online check-in process, so we had to schedule another one. We had to wait another hour, during which time my son got impatient, so we had to take him out for a walk. When we returned near our second appointment, the receptionist said she had canceled our appointment because we hadn't explained why we were leaving. We found this reason strange and argued with her. She said she didn't want us there and told us to leave. I think that's the best solution. I hope everyone doesn't come to this place again.
