I tried about 30 cafes during my monthlong stay in Mermaid Beach and this one, by far, had the best tasting lattes. Unassuming in its location adjacent to a grocery store, this place left me with morning cravings and kept me coming back multiple times even though I wanted to keep trying new spots. They brew ONA beans and their milk-based espresso drinks are exceptional. Definitely more of a grab and go coffee shop. Though there’s seating, with all of the in-and-out energy of the grocery store right next to it and the takeaway orders lining up, it’s not somewhere I’d stay to work but great for a coffee on the go. Sometimes there can be a bit of a line so I’d plan to wait about 10 minutes for your coffee, but it’ll be worth it.

Chut and Co is a nice little cafe with a cozy and friendly feel. The staff were kind and helpful, and the place is clean and comfortable. The coffee is exceptional, and the food is also very fresh and delicious finished everything on the plate. It's a good spot to relax, meet friends, or just enjoy a quiet moment. I'd definitely go back!
A sweet spot that opens 5:45 for the early birds, haven’t tried their food but the coffee is nice. They use ona beans (a great roastery here in Australia) They were kind enough to order a specific bag of beans i asked for as it wasn’t available at the time in stock. I visited a second time to get the beans and enjoyed a cup of coffee.
I was really looking forward to enjoying a quiet dine-in coffee experience, but unfortunately, there was a clear lack of attention to detail. I asked to dine in and instead received an overheated coffee in a takeaway cup — not ideal when you’re trying to relax and enjoy the moment. I had hoped to pair that with a crispy, juicy sourdough ham and cheese toastie, but was instead given croissants, which wasn’t what I ordered or expected. To be fair, the food itself was fresh and tasted good, but the overall experience missed the mark. When you go out for coffee, it’s about more than just the food — it’s the experience, the atmosphere, and the small details that matter. Sadly, this visit didn’t deliver on that.
