A great gym to visit and become a member to! All areas are clean and equipment is well maintained! They have a little bit of everything. When it is busy, I still find equipment and weights to utilize! I’ve been to two locations so far and am impressed on the quality of the staff, aquatic areas, change rooms, and overall establishment!
I joined Chuze Winrock specifically for the water aerobics, and while the instructor, Gabriella, is beyond fantastic, my main concern was the water temperature. I was told - and this is why I paid - that the water would always be between 83 and 86 degrees F. In fact, this is almost never the case. My first day, the heaters were allegedly broken and it was freezing. The next week the pool closed for maintenance for two weeks. I thought that might solve the problems but the water continues to be too cold, too often. This morning I called before heading down to check and was told it was 79 degrees! I asked if something was again broken and was told no, it was just colder because it's winter! What? When I joined in early December I was not told there were differents temps for different seasons. It is impossible to talk to anyone is charge at the gym and get any serious answers or at corporate. I think that lying to customers is not a great business model.
I have been a member of this gym for over 2 years. Although, the staff is very friendly when arriving and leaving, there is no in between customer service! Most of the front desk team DO NOT know the simple task of multitasking, which is a must when working in customer service, especially, front desk at a gym! You can’t have 7 people lined up for over 5 minutes, as you help 1 person with multiple account issues. Then be told the zero gravity massage you booked won’t happen because none of the 3 chairs are working….so you switch to hydro massage that won’t turn on, so have to go BACK out to front desk to have it reset…this is NOT uncommon here, that’s the problem…it’s Ridiculous! I am repeatedly disappointed in the up keep of equipment and cleanliness of the hot tub/steam room. The hot tub is dirty with excessive foam containing brown slough in it (GROSS) and steam room with puddles of water. Only 1 time we’ve witnessed a team member clear water from steam room. We were very grateful and staff responded “ I get it, I think I’m the only one that does it.” The zero gravity massage chairs are constantly out of order, hydro massage chairs frequently out of order. This is one of the main reasons I joined this gym! Maybe a new store manger or new management team is needed?! The weekends are definitely the worst, seems like a free for all, inattentive and uninterested staff! Very disappointing!!! Chuze needs to get it together or I will find another gym and keep spreading the word regarding lack of cleanliness and competent staff. And, clearly managements lack of knowledge to gross incompetency/laziness of a lot of your staff! Is there even a manager working the weekends?
Dear Chuze Fitness Management, While using the pool and recovery facilities at Chuze, I would like to share a few suggestions to help improve cleanliness and enhance the overall member experience. I have noticed that some members do not shower before entering the pool and even wear shoes into the pool area. This causes the pool water to become dirty more quickly and may affect hygiene and health. Encouraging members to shower before entering the pool would help keep the water cleaner, reduce the need for frequent water replacement, save costs for the company, and promote better public awareness and etiquette. In addition, the water in the pre-pool shower area often remains cold for quite a long time before becoming warm enough for members to rinse off before entering the pool. This results in unnecessary water waste for the company. Furthermore, the pool water itself is quite cold, which makes many older members hesitant to use the pool. I would also like to mention that the covers on the hydromassage chairs sometimes have an unpleasant odor, especially in the headrest area. This may be due to the covers not being cleaned or replaced on a regular schedule, and it affects both comfort and hygiene. I respectfully suggest: • Posting large, clear signs stating: “Please shower before entering the pool and no shoes in the pool area.” • Adjusting the water temperature to make it more comfortable for members. • Regularly cleaning or replacing the hydromassage chair covers, especially the headrest area, to ensure cleanliness and comfort. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Sincerely,
The front desk claims Les Mills has a policy that group fitness bars are to be kept locked up between classes. I literally worked for Les Mills. Here is their actual policy: “Les Mills does not mandate that barbells be kept locked up between classes as an official, universal policy. The primary focus of their equipment guidelines is on proper, safe storage when not in use, which includes using dedicated racks. While a universal "locked up" policy does not exist, Les Mills does offer a SMARTBAR™ Locking Unit accessory for their storage racks. This product is sold separately and is designed to "prevent non-authorized use and promote peace of mind," indicating that some gyms may choose to implement their own security measures, but it is an optional feature, not a mandatory policy from Les Mills HQ.” This gym has created a fictitious policy to lock up their bars between classes under the guise that Les Mills makes them. At the Littleton Chuze in Colorado, I use the bars between classes all the time. I’ll be complaining to Les Mills as well. I literally pay to use all the equipment at Chuze and locking up equipment between classes creates a barrier to my workouts. I’m so disappointed in Chuze as a company and hope corporate reaches out to this specific Winrock gym to change their useless policy. Shame on them for trying to blame Les Mills, which is a remarkable corporation. Also, if the policy is to lock up the bars, the gym should carry more Les Mills offerings. There are literally three classes scheduled for the whole day so the bars just collect dust. I’ll be cancelling my membership.
