This space was absolutely perfect for hosting my daughter's 1st birthday party! Tons of natural light and good configuration of the space. Had all the things we needed and then some. Anna was easy to communicate with and all the equipment was easy to use. I will definitely be booking with them again! I'd say the only thing that was more limited then I would have liked is the time for decorating/clean up because that is included in the 4 hour rental block time. I'd suggest they move it to 5 hour rental blocks knowing you may need 1-2 hours for decorating (and clean up) and can still have a ~3 hour event. In order to have a good party length in that time and decorate ahead of time we had to basically clean up as the party was winding down instead of getting to enjoy it to the end. Not a huge deal but something to keep in mind when booking or else you must pay extra.
The space itself is bright during the day and worked well for our event with 22 seated guests, a photo zone, catering, and a bar. However, once it gets dark, the lighting is very limited — only a couple of light sources — though there are plenty of outlets, and the additional lights we brought helped a bit after sunset. They provide tables, but only two large wooden ones and two smaller ones. When we came for the walkthrough, we were told we cannot move the large tables because they are handmade and must stay positioned exactly as shown in the photos. So if their layout doesn’t work for your event, you’ll need to bring your own tables. This was confusing because their website lists: • (2) 8-ft x 44” wooden tables (available upon request) • (26) chairs • (2) 24” x 55” tables on casters • (2) additional folding 24” x 48” tables • (1) black side table But in reality, there were only the two fixed tables and two small ones. There is also a $150 cleaning fee, and after your event you must take all trash that doesn’t fit into their one small patio bin with you — otherwise there’s an additional fee. Before booking, I read many reviews praising their communication, but our experience was very different. From the beginning, the communication was minimal and not particularly helpful. When I asked for clarity about the tables, the answers were vague and inconsistent. When we arrived to set up for our event, we discovered that there was no running water. We messaged the host, but it took almost two hours — from the start of our rental time — to resolve the issue. Eventually, they decided to call a plumber, but it significantly delayed our setup. Another important detail: they have a Google Nest camera (with a mic one) pointed directly at the seating area near the TV, facing the guests and the tables the entire time. The host said it’s used to check that guests leave on time, but it could easily be placed near the exit or stairs instead. Just be aware that you’re being watched the whole time. We decided to disconnect it to have at least some privacy. Overall, if you’re hosting an event with guest seating, catering, and a bar — and especially if you need flexibility in arranging the layout — this space is very difficult to work with in our experience. There are many rules, extra steps, and little support from the host, except when it comes to mentioning additional fees. I would not choose this space again.
Perfect place to throw an event! Cannot wait to come again. I threw my birthday party here for 50 people and it was silky smooth! Anna is great to work with, booking was easy, and it was very clean and ready for us. Plenty of space for a group of our size, and it's so beautiful that decorations are truly optional. Super cute outdoor patio is such a little treat!
We absolutely loved working with Anna and using the Loft space for our baby shower! It comfortably held ~45 people and our guests loved the indoor/outdoor environment as well as the amazing natural lighting which made all of our photos come out beautifully. Anna was super responsive to any questions we had about dimensions of the space as we planned our event, and the tables & chairs she provided worked really well. We only added 3x additional cocktail tables and a foldout table on the patio! I would highly recommend this space to anyone looking to host a private party/event!
We absolutely loved hosting our dinner party at Common Space! The set up was gorgeous, with amazing natural light and beautiful views of the sunset. We also loved that there was a cute little back patio! The guests loved it. Anna was also a joy to work with. Highly recommend!
