genuinely my fave tasting espresso i’ve had in memphis like girl it will make you hear colors. the inside is sooooo cutie it makes you feel like you should start dressing cooler. we spilled a matcha everywhere accidentally but they were so nice and helpful about it.
I come into Memphis from Seattle a couple times a year to visit my family but it was my first time here and I loved it. I asked the barista what they recommended and they were so nice! Asked me follow up questions and then suggested an oat milk flat white for myself and a drip coffee with a brown sugar cardamom syrup for my dad --some of the BEST coffee I've ever had. Espresso in the flat white was so bright and fruity and the coffee was incredibly smooth and not too sweet. Additionally, the other customers were very sociable, I had great conversations, and the whole place felt welcoming and inviting. Instant fan, will definitely be back!
Being in the area decided to go there for coffee after hearing about it from my daughter. The area of is just west of the Berclair area and close to Treadwell Middle School. The facility was clean and rustic. Plenty of room to sit and chat or gather. Got the D’Angelo latte hot with oat at no additional charge. It was good and hit the spot. Maybe a little too sweet for me. Maybe next time will ask for less sugar. Staff was informative and friendly. Noise level was low considering it was in the mid afternoon when I went. Would definitely recommend this place especially when near the neighborhood.
I loved the vibes at this coffee shop! It’s Black-owned, and I really appreciated the values and the story behind the name. The drink I got was good, but I was a little disappointed to find only two menu options in the shop — especially since online it looked like there were more choices. I was really hoping to try the pancake latte or matcha. Next time I'm in Memphis, and I would come back again, but I do wish there were more options available in-store.
This place is a little gem with so much knowledge and history. The music, the vibe, all of it. Everytime I visit Memphis, I make the stop here to read or do a little work. I sometimes feel the ancestors smiling on this piece of heaven in Memphis. Excited for the new space. Definitely come here and learn about where coffee actually originated from. And the D'Angelo is super yummy!!!
