What an incredible experience! We found Alana online after my husband expressed that he would enjoy learning how to dance together before our wedding, and we can absolutely understand why she had so many excellent reviews. Alana is very warm and personable, and it is clear that she has a lot of experience with couples of all backgrounds and talent levels. Neither my partner nor I had a background in dance, and were therefore looking for some loose choreography that we could follow without it feeling too rigid or scripted. Alana met us exactly where we were, working with us to establish a routine that we felt comfortable with and that allowed us to enjoy the moment without worrying about performance. We just had our wedding and we received so many compliments on the dance. We couldn't have done it without her!!!!

We had the BEST experience with Alana for our wedding dance lessons! She is so warm, patient, and incredibly talented. From the very first lesson, she made us feel comfortable and completely tailored a routine to match our style and comfort level. She really works with you and makes the whole process fun. We had tried a few other studios in Ottawa before, including Arthur Murray, and the difference was night and day. At Arthur Murray, we found it cold, impersonal, and felt a lot of pressure to commit to big packages when all we wanted was to explore at our own pace. Honestly, we left feeling hustled. With Alana, it was the total opposite—no pressure, just encouragement and genuine care. She gave us the confidence to actually enjoy dancing together, and the routine she built feels like us. If you’re looking for private dance lessons in Ottawa, especially for a wedding, I can’t recommend Alana enough. We’re so happy we found her!

We laughed throughout the lesson, which made the hour genuinely fun. She’s not just a great instructor, she’s the kind of person who brings such a positive energy into the room that it completely changes the vibe in the best way. You can tell she genuinely cares, and that kind of energy is rare!! We left feeling more confident, excited, uplifted even, and really looking forward to going back for more lessons. I started dancing (tap) with Alana through the pandemic. I have learned so much. Dancing with Alana keeps my body nimble, moving and keeps my brain working. And it is so much fun! Alana is an inspiration! She has an incredible spirit and energy about her. She is so knowledgable about the art of tap and its history - and weaves that in beautifully. Every class brings new challenges, new steps and always fun. I feel so great when I leave.
