Absolutely delicious food and great service. It's a great casual restaurant with excellent food that feels like someone's grandma cooked just for you. Plum tea at the end was a pleasant surprise. No gluten free options at the moment.
I implore anyone reading this to eat at Doma! It is a gastronomic and authentically cultural experience that is satiating, comforting, and exceptional. The gyoza was perfectly crisped with a filling that is independently flavorful but was carefully elevated by the delicious sauce. The seafood pancake was complex, bringing multiple flavors and cutting them with a vinegar sauce to tie it all together. The trio fried chicken platter was fried to perfection, with a sweet rich sauce, a zesty lemon pepper seasoning, and a third with a tangy-smoky flavor. From the crispy sweet sesame chicken, surprised by the depth and sweet tang of the galbi, and the bulgogi which was perfectly tender, all of these luxurious flavors melted on our tongues. An always fun dish, the teokbokki was decadent, balancing richness and heat. The star for me was the japchae, playfully bouncy with a bounty of textures, topped with a sauce that was both light and savory. But it was more than the food that made this restaurant a perfect 5! They welcomed us in as family, made us feel warm and well tended too. Provided ample sides, a complimentary plum tea as an aperitif, and overall ensured we had everything we needed for a well rounded meal and a slow, full, social experience. It is love that is poured into the preparation of this food and it is reflected in the care they have for their customers, the sense of family that was shared with all the staff, and the flavors that celebrated authentic expression of identity.
We had the hot stone bibimbop and the Galbijjim. As the bibimbop cooked and turned crispy we shared the Galbijjim. The meat is like a kalbi short rib, but much thicker and roasted like a pot roast served with vegetables . The flavor is incredible. Use a spoon and drizzle the sauce over a piece before you eat it. Between these two dishes, you could comfortably 3 people. Will definitely be back.
My favorite non AYCE Korean spot! Came here for dinner! I love their bibimbap. The toppings are fresh. They have a good ratio of veggies and protein. I did find it strange that only the stone pot Bibimbap is offered during their dinner service. Personally, I'm not a fan of the rice getting crispy at the bottom of the stone pot. I prefer the classic bibimbap. The Kimichi pancake is a hit, a great size for sharing for my kimchi lovers. The galbi entree is flavorful, more on the sweet side. I liked ratio of fat to lean meat. I love that they offer a small complimentary tea drink at the end of the meal. The prices are reasonable especially the lunch menu. I prefer lunch menu over the dinner.
It was a clean and nice restaurant. Staffs were friendly. Some food tastes great, but some tasted not so great. The black bean noodles were watered down and tasted very gingery. The bibimbap was plain too. Loved the complimentary plum juice they serve at the end of the meal. I always try a restaurant for a second time if I didn’t really like my first experience. I will give it another try.
