Dowd heat and air installed a Rheem heat pump with a gas furnace for backup. The installation process was first rate and completed in a professional manner. Price was reasonable. I would definitely recommend Dowd heat and air.

My package unit was getting older (22 years old) and I new it was at it's life expectancy. I was referred to Dowd Heat & Air by an acquaintance that works in the Refrigeration business and he recommended the Dowd Company. Mr Dowd came by, looked at what I needed, and gave me a quote. I also checked with some of the other local companies for comparison. Some were cheaper and some were higher. I have learned in life that the cheapest deal isn't always the best deal. I went with the Dowd Company and the install went very well. Mr Dowd recommended a Rheem brand package replacementl, a major well known brand, and it seems to be working well. I am looking forward to seeing how the unit performs during the summer months.

Dowd didn't check the A/C in back just changed the filter in the unit. Said he couldn't check the A/C until spring. Trying to find out how much more it cost to check the A/C in the back in the fall or winter? The cost to change the filter only was $191.00. I picked this company because they advertise no pressure into a contract. But I guess the way they make that profit up is by only checking the heater in the winter and the A/C in the summer. Here's the reply. Last year Air Assurance checked my A/C in January. They could still check the A/C, it's cold, and change the filter. So much for no contract and you need refrigerant for both heat and air to work so I am skeptical of the 65 degree thing. It's in the 50's today. Oh and get this. My husband asked how much to clean the ducts, guy looks up at the ceiling and goes, no you don't need that done. 😏 Office S. from Dowd Heat and Air: Laurie, Air Conditioners are checked in the Spring/Summer. It's to cold to check the Freon. It has to be above 65 degrees. But to check it then it's $109. Your filter will net need to be changed then. We do have Service Agreements, coding $185 a year. It includes Fall/Winter Maintenance and Spring/Summer Maintenance. But you receive 10% discounts on service calls, parts and labor. You would get 10% off your filter. That plan is the most economical and you are set up for an annual maintenance. If you want this. Monday I can change your call today to an Annual Maintenance and invoice you for the difference. I was referred to them by a friend. I can't explain how amazing they are! We have called out bigger companies that wanted us to replace everything for commission. Dowd Heat and Air has been able to fix my AC and heater without replacing them. All of the techs that have been out are amazing, very nice, and professional! I will only use them.

Dowd Heat & Air was able to come out almost immediately after I called about my AC not blowing cold air. They were able to fix it on the spot and their price was very reasonable. I’ve used them several times in the past as well and have always been very pleased with the level of service. Highly recommend.
