We spent a lovely afternoon out at the Black Country Museum today. The highlight was a trip through the canal tunnels we booked separately. Having been on this trip several times over the last 40+ years I can honestly say our guide today was truly outstanding. His humour and kindness to all on board was superb and made for the best time. Thank you John you are the perfect host and I hope to see you when we return.

Went for the Halloween boat trip with the kids. Lovely couple of hours. They decorated the venue out in Halloween theme - kids did a craft activity on arrival - making masks. Then after 20-30 mins the guides / ‘monster party hosts’ come to take you to the boat. They were good performers and interacted with the kids. The boat trip was great, especially with the lights. Lots of Halloween themed statues / figures/ inflatables in and around the tunnels throughout the route. Near the end the boat stops at a stage inside one of the tunnels where a performance is then carried out - lots of different monsters dancing to different songs. Kids loved it. Then few Halloween theme games back on dry land at the end. The only criticism I have is I couldn’t hear half of that the hosts were saying on the boat. The microphone/ speaker system they used on the boat was rubbish!! Which was a shame as the hosts themselves seemed great! Understandably a lot of excited kids talking and monster spotting so unless you were in the mid section of the boat next to the hosts you couldn’t hear anything. But it didn’t stop the enjoyment of the evening. Keep an eye on their Facebook page as they sometimes post deals/ discount codes. We got lucky finding one for this trip so was very good value for money.

Absolutely fantastic! Mark the guide was brilliantly hilarious, so much history to learn and hear about, it was truly fascinating! I recommend this to anyone interested in history or who just fancy something a bit different

A great historic trip into the canal caverns of Dudley. The museum was great too as it provided background information on the origins, geology and history of the caves. The commentary was really good but the trip was a bit short and ended quickly we felt. You would need to add an extra event to make it a longer experience maybe the Black Country Museum across the canal ?

We took our 2 goddaughters yesterday. We all had a great day. Staff are so friendly and helpful. It was lovely a cool on the boat and in the tunnel. We sat at the side of the canal and ate our packed lunch. Then went inside where there were lots of make and do activities. It was nice and cool inside. We spent 3 hours there. The boat trip was so relaxing and informative.
