I came to Eltsa Custom Sewing with a dress off the rack a size too large and not a clue of what I needed fixed to make it look right. Out the gate I felt comfortable and happy with choosing Eltsa Custom Sewing. At the first appointment she let me know it was going to take a decent amount of work to size down the dress and make it look just right. She suggested I make multiple appointments until my wedding day so we could consistently make sure it was all going accordingly. Not only did she fix my dress, but she also made a custom jacket out of my Mom's wedding dress! I always felt like I knew what would be getting worked on next and that my dress would look perfect for my wedding day. I highly recommend Eltsa Custom Sewing!
Eltsa Custom Sewing did an amazing job on my wedding dress! Out of 3 different tailor consults, Eltsa had the best suggestions and price point. Due to the design of my dress (3D appliqué with lace with multiple layers), the cost of the work was higher than I budgeted for, but it was all worth it. I did several fittings to have my dress fit perfectly. This involved taking in the bust to fit my body type, hemming the bottom, adding a 7-point bustle, and creating straps using leftover fabric. Unexpectedly, I lost about 5 lbs and the dress did not fit me 2 weeks before the wedding. They had actually warned me about this since I took in my dress to be tailored a few months early. Thankfully, Eltsa was able to see me ASAP and adjusted the bust area and completed the work in just a couple of days. I am very grateful for the fast turnaround especially since I was stressed about other things. I would highly recommend Eltsa for alterations!
I had my wedding dress altered at Eltsa and Margo did an exceptional job. She was the perfect blend of directness, honesty and so much intentional care. We hit it off right away and I felt so taken care of - which I was nervous about. A wedding dress is such a huge investment and to find an alterations person is a big leap of faith and it felt so nice to work with Margo and know it was all going to come out perfectly - and it did! Working with Margo was such a great experience. She is no-nonsense and gave great suggestions on what needed to be done (and what didn't need to be done), and I felt like I could trust her to make me look my best. My dress turned out incredibly beautiful! Her pricing was very fair considering all the hand sewing that goes into this process, but more importantly I felt like I was in good hands the whole way.
I highly recommend choosing Eltsa Custom Sewing for wedding dress alterations! I took my wedding dress to them in January for my May wedding. From my first appointment to the last, I was very impressed with her expertise and appreciated her honesty. We started by altering the top to fit better and she highly advised me to alter the sleeves. She walked me through how changing the sleeves would better flatter my bust and how it would increase mobility of my arms. I was a little hesitant because I loved how the sleeves fell, but ultimately accepted and I’m so glad I did! Her alterations to the top of the dress majorly improved how it looked on me. I was also really impressed with the bustle! It was a long process forming the bustle because of all the layers of fabric my dress had, but she did it with expertise and the end result was incredible. Seeing the bustle put together for the first time made me fall in love with my dress all over again. I couldn’t recommend Eltsa Custom Sewing more!
