Absolutely fab service, after having such an appalling service from Alton cars in Leeds which was provided by my insurance, I decided to go with Evans Halshaw and they did not disappoint, fixed my Mercedes car door repairs within a week, kept me updated throughout and the finish was perfect! Unfortunately my experience is about as bad as it gets. Following an accident in my 2 year old Toyota we chose EH because they were on my insurers list and Toyota approved. Car was returned repaired and shortly after I noted poor panel gaps. They took it back but on return it was no better. After a list of excuses why they couldn’t get a better fit I left. I took photos of a new identical Toyota and then visited a Toyota dealers Bodyshop. They agreed the repair was poor also pointing out additional defects including paint. I contacted my insurer with photo evidence, they sent the assessor who agreed and that it could be repaired at my Toyota dealer. On stripping it down they found further multiple incorrect repairs and missed damage. In fact the bumper was part held on with double sided tape and other fittings stuck on with sealant gung instead of clips. The washer bottle was refitted damaged, paint was peeling off and that is just the headlines. Had I not kicked up a fuss I would have found myself at trade in time with the distinct probability of being accused of unknowingly trading in an accident damaged car. This is - at best - professional negligence. At worst it is….. I will leave the reader to fill in the blank. I hope my insurer are taking them to task and I have forwarded my experience to Toyota Uk to address their failings as an approved Bodyshop. A month on from my review and I am further disappointed with the complete lack of response or acknowledgment. My experience is neither exaggerated nor fiction, it probably under rather than overplays the situation. The only positive aspects were their system keeps customers well informed of progress and in my case the courtesy cars were always almost brand new. More than a year on and no one from Evans Halshaw or Toyota UK bothered to follow up with me. I can however say the Doncaster Toyota dealer body shop went over and above to sort out the problems.
Chelsea. You need to get on indeed & start looking for a new job if you can’t provide simple customer service to an upset customer. Refused to release my vehicle due to not receiving the payment even though they’d been sent remittance that payment had been made. Chelsea advised that she’ll check with a manager in half an hour to which I stated this is a matter of urgency so surely you can speak to the manager now. Chelsea’s response was to put the phone down. When she called me back with an update she said I’d made her feel uncomfortable even though there was no shouting or swearing or threats. Chelsea love if you’re uncomfortable speaking with customers then you’re honestly in the wrong job. Chelsea’s managers: this is the level of staff that you have? An established company like Evan’s Halshaw will lose their good name to staff like Chelsea.
Needed repairs for my car and Rob and the team from Evan’s Body Centre did an amazing job in little to no time. They were also very polite and helpful throughout the whole process.
