Fast bike in San Jose used to be a cool place to go on Alum Rock Ave for bmx bikes New personal/owner working there are inexperienced at fixing and building bikes maybe for little kids with training wheels is ok! Dude Rick is rude inexperienced with customer service is poor for bike maintenance save your money and look at other bike shops that are more intelligent and experienced with customer service and expensive bikes… Doesn’t care about bikes…
I have a bike event on Sunday. I went out for a training ride yesterday and blew out my back tire. I called the shop and they said tires are in stock. So during my hour break from work, I rushed down to Fast Bicycle Shop to drop off my bike to have new tubes and tires put on. I was expecting to just drop it off and pick it up either next day or Saturday. To my surprise, Tom (who I later found out is the owner of Fast Bicycle Shop) told me if I wait a few mins, he could change it both out! Wow! Sure enough, he did the work so quick I was in and out probably within 10 mins and I was able to make it back to work on time! For anyone looking for bicycle repair, I highly recommend Fast Bicycle Shop. The other man that took care of me previously, is named Ricardo and they both treated me so nicely and their work was excellent! I also love being able to support locally owned business! Thanks again, Tom!
Terrible experience. 1. Expensive: Charged me $30/tire, for just labor, to fix a flat that they quoted they took 30 min to complete. 2. Attitude: Right off the bat I got a , “we don’t patch flats.” Didn’t and wasn’t asking for a patch up, but new tubes. 3. Deceiving quotes: Mentioned $ amounts that they later said was for just a part, or just labor, or just one tire. End price came out $20 more for total repair than originally quoted. 4. Lying store clerk: Left my name and number and asked for a call back which they confirmed. Called back towards closing time and they mentioned it was done 30 min after I had left the shop. To which I asked why didn’t you call me. I got a, “we don’t call for flat repairs”. When I went to pick up my bike the story changed to we did call you, but I clearly had no calls received. So either he lied the first time, or the second. 4. Poor service and damaged bike: They scratched paint of my bike and left it inoperable. They said they didn’t have the tools to properly screw on the hub axel nuts and screwed it on backwards. My eBike now displays an error and has locked the wheels. I asked for a fix and the guy said he didn’t have the tools, but clearly he used the tools to take off and put it back on the opposite way rendering my bike disabled. Never have I ever had or could imagine such a disastrous experience just to fix a flat. Avoid this scammy place. Response to Tom: So you’re still lying… not a surprise, but contradicting yourself while you’re at it. Is it that you don’t call for flat repairs (which you didn’t)? Or did you call me about my wheel lock (which you didn’t). Either ways prospects, advise is don’t waste your time here. The experience will be terrible and the owner is a scam artist.
I purchased an electric bike from them and when I received the E bike did not come with a key to remove battery or any type of owners manual and had an error from the beginning of purchase. I was able to drive it for a couple days and was able to ride about over 100 miles. When the same error that had occurred before popped back up and permanently stayed had to Drop back off the bike due to failure of a throttle and owner told me that it was my fault for failure of throttle because I drove the bike too far and that the bike is a toy and should be treated like a toy and never gave me any type of warning that there should’ve been limitations on driving the bike, and that it would break down due to mileage and establishment also never mentioned when purchasing E bike that it was a toy and I should treat it like a toy and his response also was that consumers are stupid when buying e-bikes from his company buyers beware by the way, all these comments wore from the owner, Tom his self and not to mention, the bike was scratched up. Bolts were falling out as I was driving it very poorly put together. please beware when purchasing from the store, considering owner considers his product toys oh, and one more thing I forgot to mention beware that he says it’s normal to sell, scratched up specialized and products that is how it comes from the manufacturers so if you want scratched up faulty product, this is the place to go
Stopped by the other day, waiting for traffic to die down. Tom was very generous with his time and advice. No pushy salesmanship here, so i actually drove an hour to come back to buy here. Tom is a great guy and runs a great shop.
