My name is Wisdom and I am a 10-month old cattle dog/shepherd mix. I love being busy, have tons of energy and need to work and have lots of mental stimulation because I am super smart! I am the luckiest puppy ever – Not only do I have the most amazing owner who loves me but he also found Jayson at Focused Dog Training to help my owner and family learn and understand how to care for and train me because I have a lot of unique needs (I’m a cattle dog!). From the moment I met Jayson, I knew he spoke my language. He came to our home, quickly assessed our individual needs, and provided us with a structured training program that specifically focused on those issues. Jayson has taught me and my owner so much about how to live together. And he is always there for advice and suggestions when we need him. Jayson is truly my friend and mentor. It's great being understood. Thank you, Jayson! I can’t recommend Focused Dog Training highly enough! You truly are the best!

Jayson and Jess teamed to train my reactive standard poodle and both my wife and I feel this was a superb value. Jayson expends a lot of personable energy making the client feel up to date on progress during the two week training period. He and Jess came to my home to drop off the dog and walked us through all the training points. I asked for a new dog and I got one - I'm very proud of Jayson and his successful business. If you go with another outfit to get your dog's behavior rectified you're making a mistake. Highly recommend you save up and hire Jayson.

I sent Shiloh to Focused Dog Training for the two-week stay-away bootcamp not long after getting him, and it was an absolute game-changer! As a first-time dog owner who also works full time, I was struggling with training a large dog and having problems at controlling him at home. Before I dropped him off, I was more than a bit nervous about leaving Shiloh with some stranger for two whole weeks. Previous reviews assured me this was a good decision, but I had my doubts. I knew I made the right choice the moment I dropped Shiloh off. Jayson was warm and welcoming. His knowledge, passion, and energy were so clear during the conversation we had at drop off. What really impressed me was how well he understood my concerns about preserving Shiloh's happy, dorky, loving personality during training. I was worried that he might lose part of who he is due to overly strict training requirements, but Jayson and Kaitlyn’s emphasis on positive reinforcement ensured that he learned solid skills and still came home as my lovable goober. Shiloh now has foundations in obedience and socialization. He's responding to basic commands, and his confidence – and mine - has soared. But what's just as important is that he still remains his adorable, goofy self – Focused Dog Training didn't try to "fix" him or take away his quirks. He still chases the birds - it's just now when I let him. He still wants cuddles on the couch - just now I can have him stay in Place while I cook and eat before we cuddle. Kaitlyn and Jayson worked with who he is and gave him the skills he needed for us to succeed together and I am so grateful for it. The communication was outstanding throughout the entire experience. They kept me updated on Shiloh's progress via daily photos and regular reports. I felt like I was still part of the process even from afar. It’s been a few months since Shiloh’s been home, I have always been able to reach Jayson and Kaitlyn with questions, comments, or concerns. Kaitlyn especially has been absolutely fantastic. She has come out a couple of times to help me with areas that I as a new dog owner needed training on and it was very helpful. I also boarded Shiloh with Kaitlyn when I was away on a two-week trip and had the same wonderful experience I had had during the training bootcamp. He loves her and her family and every conversation I have had with her has shown how good she is at what she does and how much she cares about the pets we trust her with. Thank you to Jayson and Kaitlyn for giving Shiloh an unforgettable adventure and me peace of mind.

Can’t say enough good things about Jayson and his team. We’ve used a number of other trainers in the Madison area for puppy training, fun social classes, etc. My regret is not finding Focused Dog Training sooner. I had reached out to Jayson when our sweet doodle became reactive to my pregnancy. I will never forget how responsive, kind and supportive Jayson was. It was clear straight away that he cared to help us get to the bottom of what was going on. Throughout our entire journey; from first conversation, bootcamp and beyond, it has felt like Jayson has gone above and beyond. Our lives have changed for the better. We now have the tools and commands needed to be great dog owners, and our boy now is back to his thriving sweet self who’s obsessed with his human sister but now with some much better behavior. Focused Dog Training is not just the best training but also the best people. We feel so lucky to have had Jayson and team part of lives the last 3 years. Our boy loves the team as well. We highly recommend Jayson (Focused Dog Training). We rescued Toby and up until then, he had absolutely no guidance/direction. He did what he wanted and was out of control. Prior to Jayson, we really thought we were going to have to return him to the rescue. It seemed like no matter what we did, it wasn't working. Toby did Jayson's 14 day boot camp and we now have a totally different dog! He's much more confident, his recall is amazing, he knows who is in charge...he's an all around happier dog. Any time we have a question, we know we can reach out to Jayson and he will provide tips to try and correct a behavior/issue that may pop up. We are so thankful and forever grateful for Jayson and Focused Dog Training!
