1. Deceptive menus – The menu lists several special rolls with “snow crab.” We ordered these and they turned out to be imitation crab, which is processed fish and not actually crab. I confronted both the manager and the owner, who claimed this is how they’ve always done it and that they’ve been doing it this way for “15 years,” while questioning how I could possibly expect real snow crab for $15. They promised to change the menu but never did (I followed up). 2. Slow service – My daughter ordered a poke bowl that was forgotten despite three reminders. Our entire party of 11 finished eating except for her. 3. Poor management / follow-up – The waiter came over and told me not to tip him because he made mistakes, which was ridiculous since this was clearly a management and service issue. We still tipped him, but no establishment should ever expect a waiter to absorb the cost of management failures. 4. Food quality – The food overall was blah. Very average fish with far too much rice. UPDATE (response to owner's response): First, thank you for responding here. I tried to email your team several times for an update but have not received a response. I disagree with your following statement "imitation crab is a standard ingredient in the sushi industry and is commonly referred to as 'snow crab' unless specified otherwise." Imitation crab (surimi, kani, crab stick) is common in the sushi industry, especially in rolls like California rolls. However, it is not correctly or universally referred to as “snow crab.” “Snow crab” is the common name for a real crab species (typically Chionoecetes opilio), and when used accurately, it means real crab meat, not imitation. Calling imitation crab “snow crab” is not industry-standard and is inaccurate -- I have checked on this several friends that operate successful Japanese restaurant establishments. In many jurisdictions, it can be considered mislabeling if it leads consumers to believe they are getting real crab. I am looking forward to your menu changes.

We came here for my 42nd birthday. The sushi really was delicious. We had one of the combo plates, shumai, as well as miso soup and a Cali roll for good measure. The service was great too which always makes a difference.

We came here after missing the dinner boat cruise on the river and it was pretty good. I'm not a raw food person so all our options were deep fried or cooked. We got the shrimp tempura... California roll... bourbon roll and the dragon roll. Our waiter was pretty attentive and answered all 300 questions I had about what was in the different options. Pretty flavorful and as you can see the presentation was amazing as well. I'd recommend this spot for a sushi experience for sure so give them a try.

First-time visit. The restaurant is located right off Canal Street, easy to access. We arrived at 1 PM and were seated immediately. We ordered three rolls for dine in and shrimp and salmon hibachi to go. The rolls were excellent. We had the hibachi back at our hotel for dinner. I thought the salmon and fried rice was a bit dry, my wife's was fine. Service was excellent and other than the annoying people out front on the sidewalk selling tourist junk, this was an enjoyable lunch. Enjoy.
