Pathetic Customer Service I went in on Thursday, Jan 8 as I have lived here for ages but haven't stopped by this place in years. I am one of those Texans who generally go out of their way to support local businesses & it was my off day, plus I wanted to show my teenage son how a farmer's market is & how the fruit/veggies are supposed to be the best; fresher than supermarkets as the idea is to be from farm to table/home. I bought 5 small red apples, 3 green tomatoes, 1 jar of apple butter, 2 bundles of collard greens, and 3 onions. My bill was $27. I got home & my son wanted an apple. Bit into it and it was all mush. So much so, you just spit it out and don't want to eat dehydrated tasting mushy apple. I tried the other side of it, same thing. I didn't go in depth feeling the apples in the store as I presumed they were all good, they had a good appearance, etc. I went into the bag and pressed on the skin, they all had this mush feeling. I am presuming this is from the freezing temps lately in our area, and since this place is in a warehouse, its destroyed the product. (Apples almost always get mushy after freezing and thawing because the water in their cells expands, breaking the cell walls, which ruins their crisp texture)(Google). I think nothing of it, and decide to go back up there tomorrow to swap out some apples for my son. Go inside with just the bag, letting the guy behind the front (curly hair, has a headphone in ear) know about the apples being mushy and if we could trade for some other produce or some green apples (that are known to stay crispy longer). In front of my kid, he gave me a hassle. He claimed that each apple has a range of crispness. I told him each one was mushy. I did not ask for my money back. This was over $4-5 worth of apples. I said, can my son trade these mushy apples in for some other fruit like the green apples? He said: "Normally, I don't let people return items, I can't sell this again." I said, "You don't want to sell these again, they are mushy apples, they're gross. Can you please let my son trade these for a couple green apples?" He looked down with a pouted face with clear attitude, mumbling, and just barely nodded. My son smiled got 2 green apples and said thank you. We left. I am never coming back to an establishment again like this who is so greedy and disrespectful to their own customers that they would hassle even a child from getting "fresh fruit" that is labeled on their signage. My son simply said, I am confused, why did I just get 2 apples when we traded in 5 bad ones? You are an embarrassment to the community of Plano. All over $4-5 worth of ruined apples. Unfortunately, shop owner, you hired a bad apple. I am sorry but if I was the owner of this shop, I'd never hire people like this to treat a customer this way. I hope your business will continue to survive amidst of rising downtown rent prices, and competitive FRESH supermarkets that would never question a customer over some spoiled produce. I'm sure an overworked, underpaid hard-working Walmart employee would have treated us with decency and respect.

They have an amazing selection of rebel cheese out of Austin! They have the most flavors I’ve seen outside of rebel cheese itself. Good variety of soy free as well. I bought rebel cheese from a place in Denton that went out of business, and then from a place in Dallas that stop selling it. So please support them! Buy some vegan cheese next time you’re there. It’s incredibly delicious.
