I got my braids done by Savannah and had such an amazing experience with her. This was my first time getting braids and she made me feel comfortable from start to finish. I was nervous about the braids being tight, but they’re not tight at all her hands were so gentle and she’s extremely confident and skilled at what she does. She’s very professional, incredibly sweet, and checked in with me every step of the way. She also took the time to answer all of my hair care questions, which I truly appreciated. The space at Got Roots is very welcoming and relaxing. My stylist Savannah was great and the other staff where also friendly and fun. Prices are reasonable and they are extremely professional and attentive to your needs. I highly recommend this place !
The last time I had a regular hairdresser was a full decade ago, when I decided to finally pass the reigns of maintaining my long, heavy locs to someone with more patience than me. During the pandemic, working from home meant having the chance to leave my then loose natural hair alone more often. My hair was growing longer and reaching lengths I never thought it could. When it was time to return to the office, a familiar problem arose: Who’s gonna do my hair? I don’t have the time or know-how to keep it trimmed and healthy and styled week after week. After a quick Google search for a new, go-to hairstylist in Sacramento, I found Got Roots Color Bar! The existing reviews made me a believer, with another customer saying she found every excuse after leaving the salon to show off her new hairstyle, including running allllllll her errands so everyone could see her gorgeous hair. LOL! My first appointment was for a silk press, color and trim in Jan 2025 and I've been back several times this year for trims and color touch-ups, even bringing my mom for her "birthday haircut." As I type, my last silk press is a week old, but it still looks and smells good! Don't think about it, just book your appointment so you, too, can have errand-running, workweek-ready and/or special-event hair. Owner Akela is also a very present, funny conversationalist who seamlessly matches the client's vibe and personality while in her chair.
Ladies, this is THE PLACE to get your roots done. Great service. Nice friendly vibes. Convenient location. And above all, the best hair care. I highly recommend this salon.
