Griffith Observatory is hands-down one of the best things we did in LA. The views of the city at sunset are unreal—Hollywood sign, downtown skyline, all glowing. The planetarium show was mind-blowing, super engaging even for adults. Loved the free exhibits too—touching the moon rock, seeing the Tesla coil spark, everything. Staff were friendly and actually excited to answer questions. Went at night, felt like a movie scene. Totally worth the drive up. Ten out of ten—would go back in a heartbeat.”
I visited Griffith Observatory early in the morning around 8:00 AM, and it was an amazing experience. Parking was free until 10:00 AM. The view was absolutely incredible—you could see Los Angeles clearly, along with the iconic Hollywood Sign. There are also beautiful hiking trails around the area that go down toward the city, making it perfect for nature and outdoor lovers. I highly recommend anyone visiting Los Angeles to stop by and enjoy the stunning views and atmosphere.
I’ve wanted to visit Griffith Observatory since I was a kid, probably because of seeing it in so many Hollywood movies. Experiencing it in real life was even more breathtaking. The views over Los Angeles, the Hollywood Hills, and the city’s silhouette at sunset make the whole place feel incredibly dreamy. Of course, like any popular tourist landmark, there were huge crowds and long queues, but it was still absolutely worth it.
An absolute must-see in LA! We visited on a clear weekday afternoon and it was an unforgettable experience. The views of the Hollywood Sign and the sprawling LA basin are simply breathtaking, definitely bring your camera! We explored the free exhibits inside which were both fun and educational, perfect for all ages. But the real highlight was staying until sunset. Watching the city lights begin to twinkle on as the sky turned orange was pure magic. The atmosphere was so peaceful, with everyone just soaking in the incredible scenery. The best part? Admission to the grounds and exhibits is free, which is amazing for a landmark of this caliber. Parking can be a bit tricky, but it's absolutely worth the effort, you can also choose public transit to get there! Whether you're a tourist or a local, the Griffith Observatory offers a perfect blend of science, nature, and iconic views. A true Los Angeles gem!
Wow, this place is a must-visit! The views across LA are spectacular, and the inside is packed with fascinating information about the planets. We arrived early afternoon and found the place to be quite busy, but it was still spacious enough to feel comfortable. We opted for the bus up, as it was the most convenient and free option. You can also walk up if you prefer. One of the highlights of the observatory is the breathtaking view of the Hollywood sign. You could easily spend a day or afternoon exploring the exhibits and learning about the cosmos. My favourite part was seeing an actual piece of moon rock!
