The best part about this place is the ambience, especially for brunch. The service was friendly and accommodating. The food was subpar though. I ordered the chicken and waffles and was surprised when I got the chicken. The batter was very thick, and was the type of batter you use for fish and chips, not for fried chicken...it made a big difference in taste. The waffle and house fries were good though. I wouldn't order that dish from them again.
Tucked inside the ever-bustling Cimarron Plaza, The Grove Brunch Café feels like the kind of place that gets brunch on a higher level — equal parts aesthetic, intentional, and flavorful. I stopped by post-workout and ordered a to-go meal, but couldn’t resist starting with their Butterfly Tea Latte (unsweetened). It’s visually stunning — a dreamy bluish-violet hue that looks almost too pretty to sip — and surprisingly balanced, earthy, and light. Think matcha’s sophisticated cousin with antioxidant flair. I also tried the Healthy Asian Salad, and let’s just say it truly lives up to its name — maybe too much. I’m a self-proclaimed health junkie, but this one felt like foraging directly from the sea. Gigantic leafy greens, earthy mushrooms, some kind of seaweed situation… it was fresh, yes, but I found myself feeling like I was eating straight out of the ocean. Admirably wholesome, just not my jam. Next time, I’ve got my eye on their vegan bowl, which looks much more my speed. The menu overall is impressively expansive, thoughtfully inclusive of vegan and vegetarian options, and brimming with what I’d call “elevated casual” plates. My waitress was fantastic — warm, attentive, and effortlessly cool — matching the vibey energy of the space itself. The interior is chic yet inviting, with indoor and outdoor seating perfect for El Paso’s sunny brunch culture. If there’s one thing that surprises me, it’s the hours. For such a popular, food-forward plaza, closing at 4 p.m. feels almost criminal — those folks with 9-to-5s can only dream of a late-day Grove fix. Still, when you do catch them open, it’s a genuinely delightful spot that makes brunch feel intentional rather than routine.
Saturday after the market came to the Grove for brunch. I had the chilaquiles with steak half green and red salsa, and of course avocado. Pair this with a voodoo ranger, perfect juicy choice to tame that heat. Ended with a Grove Moscow Mule on patio to chill with the live tunes.😎🧉 Tried a pistachio macaroon, well it is not, no pistachio flavor detected and all you get is sugar green food coloring flavor. The raspberry was over kill and chunky.
When I walked in around 9am (weekday) I didn't need to wait to be seated. I got the smoked salmon Benedict and an iced matcha latte with vanilla. It was pretty good 👍🏼 lots of flavor and didnt need any salt or anything. If you like spicy ketchup mix some Tabasco sauce in your ketchup. It will taste like whataburger spicy ketchup. The music was pretty fire too. Thanks for having me Grove.
So far, this has been my favorite brunch spot in El Paso. I’m from San Antonio, so I haven’t tried every place yet, but this one made me come back for more. The food is fresh and honestly so good. The orange juice is actually freshly squeezed, which is a big plus for me. The matcha wasn’t my favorite—it was really light in color, not the bright green I expected, so maybe they used a lot of oat milk. I usually drink mine plain, so I could tell it wasn’t the best quality. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but it’s super cute and has that desert-chic vibe. Definitely worth checking out.
