I've had my nose in a book since I was a child. Half Price Books has long been one of my favorite places to find a good read. The staff are friendly and one can expect to be greeted upon entering the store. The prices, as you might guess, are more affordable than the typical book store. The store offers new and used books. I recommend checking out the clearance section in the back of the store. I've also sold books at this store. Whether you are looking for a book for yourself or buying a gift, you are sure to find it here. They also sell records, stationary and journals. Highly recommend!
In today's society it seems to be a common theme that making money is more important than anything. When I took in a banana box full of movies and they gave me $7 I didn't dispute cuz I didn't want to take him out. But it made me realize that the other hundreds of DVDs and blu-rays that I have will never be valued at a reasonable value at half price bookstore. I mean in that box of movies if they gave me 50 cents or even a dollar per movie they would have still made a killing off of resale cuz I didn't give them a bunch of junk. But they chose to be shysters about it and it just made me realize that that's just another company that is more concerned about money than they are about customers and taking care of people.
First time ever stepping foot in there, and it was to sell a bunch of books I had that I didn't like anymore. Gave me a far fairer price than I expected with how some of the books were annotated. As far as the inside of the store goes, it seemed so cozy for such a large place! It reminded me of my school library and of the public library I went to when I was a toddler-8 year old. Love those vibes and I will definitely be back! Staff were very nice too!
This store has super cool vinyl records. Found some gems rarely seen at other record stores! Vintage Moody Blues with original 8 page insert; plenty of 80’s records. Sports books were in somewhat short supply. Study bibles in short supply. Good game section. No doubt will visit again next time in Ft Wayne.
Always lol a dangerous place for me to enter… will have mission for just couple items, but nooooooooo,,, I’ll walk out of there with a bag full of goodies (CDs, albums, books) at durn good prices. Staff here is quite helpful, place is clean and organized. Big fan of this store.
