Helvella Art ist eine lebendige Galerie und Künstlerraum in Oakland, gelegen unter der Adresse 850 42nd Ave #2H, die eine Vordergalerie mit tageslichtdurchfluteten Ateliers im hinteren Bereich verbindet. Sie beherbergt vielfältige, pilzthemenbezogene Ausstellungen wie Mushi Mushi und präsentiert eine Besetzung von Künstlerinnen und Künstlern aus der Bay Area sowie Gastkünstlern. Geleitet von Raul und Felicia fördert der Veranstaltungsort eine einladende, kooperative Kunstgemeinschaft und ansprechende Veranstaltungen.

With the closing of a few of Oakland's art galleries during the pandemic, it was such good news to know that Helvella Art was opening their doors. I was one of the privileged artists that has been able to showcase a few pieces in their space and what a treat it is. The gallery is run by Raul and Felicia and they are a great team. The space is divided by the gallery at the front and the artist studios in the back. Both of the spaces are flooded with natural light which makes the area inviting and warm to be in. So happy that Oakland has a new art space, where we can show artwork, create new worlds and engage with the art community. Thank you!
This art studio and gallery space is really cool but what makes Helvella amazing are the members of their community. Felicia Ann and Raul have managed to create a community of passionate and supportive artists. Last night’s show, Mushi Mushi, included a wide range of artists with a wide variety of styles. As part of the evening’s experience, a naturalist was there to discuss the mushrooms of Oakland. So relevant, timely, and interesting. Check out this great space and meet a wide range of artists in Oakland.
The Helvella artspace located in Oakland is a lively new upcoming art studio/space. I had seen this space when it was previously occupied and now that it's an art studio/space it's beautifully lit to emphasize the many amazing art pieces that you will find there. The space itself is quite large with both the themed art occupying the front half and the artists in residence occupying the latter half. You can get in by scheduling a visit or one of the many art shows they'll have throughout the year. If you're interested in art, need inspiration, or otherwise I recommend checking out this space.
I went to the Mushi Mushi opening last night and it was great! Fascinating art by a really diverse group of artists, and the resident studio artists are also amazingly talented. The presentation by the Oakland naturalist about the mushrooms found around Lake Merritt was also very cool. I can’t wait for the next show!
Fantastic gallery and working studios. Went to their Mushi Mushi show last night that was all mushroom themed art and there were so many amazing pieces from Bay Area artist and even pieces coming from as far away as FL. The event was well hosted with lots of interesting people, a well defined schedule. So much fun. The gallery is tucked into the same building as Faultline and shares the same private parking lot.
