I initially signed up my 7 year old son at Higher Jiu Jitsu for the amazing kids classes, he finds them so fun and engaging. John is an inspiring coach - his values of respect, doing your best, treating others the way you want to be treated, and having fun really shine through in every class. The kids just love learning with him and I have seen so much improvement in my son. Three months later I signed up to the adult classes. I'm loving challenging myself (mind and body) in a completely new way, not to mention being able to jump on the mats with my son and grapple with him, have fun and create memories together. What strikes me the most about the Higher Jiu Jitsu coaching crew and members is that they are so welcoming and supportive - whether you're a newcomer like me or have been on the mats for years, there's a feeling that once you've joined the Higher Family, they've got your back. I couldn't reccomend Higher Jiu Jitsu and John more highly.
I have been doing BJJ for a number of years and been on many gyms. All good and different at the same time however, at Higher Jiu Jitsu I am enjoying the details when training. Highly recommend coming in and join us for the experience. Great coach and people.

I was travelling through Sydney looking for a place to train, and I honestly struck gold. Higher Jiu Jitsu is by far the best academy I’ve ever had the chance to train at. The level of instruction is outstanding — the attention to detail in every technique is incredible, and the care and guidance from the coaches are second to none. The rolls with the team were brilliant: high level, respectful, and controlled. My only regret is not living in Sydney so I could train there regularly. Absolutely exceptional place.
