Disappointed experience. We went to Hometown Bowl around 9 pm, about 2–3 hours before their listed closing time, and found the place completely locked up and closed for the night. Google Maps indicated they were still open, and there was no sign or notice explaining the early closure. Several other people were also outside confused and trying to get in, so it clearly wasn’t just us misunderstanding the hours. It was frustrating to make the trip ($30 uber to and then home) expecting them to be open and have no communication otherwise. Accurate hours and better communication are really important!!!
How are they going to tell me I need a wristband to drink alcohol an hour after I already bought my drink? They already had my money... To make matters worse, avoid the manager because she has a bad attitude and a Napoleon complex. The rest of the staff was cool and apologetic, but have no clue what power trip their manager was on saying she would get a felony if she let it go. Chill out! Also, if you are visiting from out of the country (even Canada), your driver's license doesn't count as proof of your age here. They want to see you physical passport, which this dual citizen didn't think he needed to carry around in his hometown. This bowling alley is more secure than Fort Knox apparently. I am 43 years old (not a teeny bopper), and just wanted to finish my White Claw. Was not planning on getting crunk or acting a fool while visiting my family over the holiday weekend. What a rip off and never coming back.
Bowling is fun, plenty of games to play, and has gotten me addicted to Pokémon cards 5/5
Weekend prices are cool. But the place needs some TLC. A lot of the lanes were closed and dusty and they are already a limited amount of lanes. The bowling balls need to be replaced they looked like trash, theyre all chipped, some of the tv need to be replaced. Aesthetically it looks good, but they need to oil the lanes and fix all the broken ones. This would be a good spot to drink, but the bowling is only good for drunk bowling and that’s it. Also, they don’t have the option to bumper bowl per user it’s either up for everyone or down for everyone wow other bowling alleys have the bumpers up per person food for thought customer service excellent the bowling alley just needs some TLC. At this point it might as well just be a bar.
I came here for my birthday and was really disappointed with the service. The staff member who helped me was unaccommodating, dismissive, and had no personality at all. It felt like he didn’t want to be there and certainly didn’t care that it was a special occasion for me. Customer service makes all the difference, and unfortunately, this experience made me feel unwelcome on a day that should have been fun and memorable. I won’t be coming back.
