Very professional. They heard the problem my car was presenting. They diagnosed it and suggested what I should do. It was very timely. Thanks Daniel and Tom.
I stopped by shop and spoke with Tom. I told him my 2018 Altima was having acceleration issues. He stopped what he was doing and took the time to check out my car, ran a diagnostic, and let me know it was a transmission failure.....all without charging me a thing. He was very honest, helpful, and experienced. He made sure I understood what was going on before sending me on my way. I really appreciated his professionalism and honesty. Highly, highly recommend.
My transmission broke down on a cross-country roadtrip, and the replacement transmission I got in Colorado failed in Sacramento. I’m really grateful I found Tom! He was extremely professional and empathetic to my situation, and he figured out how to repair the part that broke for less than he originally quoted me. He is extremely knowledgeable and explained the issue very well. His communication was excellent and I was kept in the loop through the entire repair. I got the impression that Tom seeks out opportunities to learn and further advance his skills, which is highly admirable given that he’s already an expert. I’d highly recommend House of Automatic Transmission.
I’ve been having this problem with a transmission. The code that my OB2 scanner keeps popping out was a solenoid code which pretty much was screwing up my Honda Transmission. I already spoke to Tom/owner and we agreed to bring it in early on Monday so he could have it for 2 days. Well, life would be just weird by not having some problem on top of the problem that I was currently dealing with. So, how it was explained to me was the power cord that from the battery to the tranny was having connecting issues. Actually the connectors were literally falling out of the plug. So Tom had to order a power connector from Honda which of course they would have to order and would take the rest of the week or worst case maybe even next week. And now cue in the temper tantrum of a kid inside me venting out to Tom about how and why my cars not fixed etc etc. let’s just say I had to and owes it to the man. Yes I came to realization that I was not being reasonable and have to realize things just sometimes take more time. Well I got lucky and Tom decided to accept my car back(I only drove it down the street and realized no way it’s not going to make it. I’d be lucky to just be able to make it to another repair shop. I quickly grew the hell up quick and high-tailed it back to Tom’s and with a hat in hand (figuratively) I slowly walked to Tom and the old boy knew. It was a moment that all guys getting older come to realize that even when your about to hit the golden age of 50! The guy fixing your car stupid, ( that’s me talking to myself ) happens to know more than you do about transmissions…duh that’s why you’re there. So Tom accepted my humbling apologies and said he would call me as soon as he found out or fixed the problem. I had to accept that and go home…BUT Tom calls me the next day and I’m about to just burst out with a sigh of relief and said to myself…the old boy did it. Let’s just not go into how I thought I caught myself actually skipping not jogging but skipping a bit knowing that I’d be picking up my baby from the repair shop. When I drove my car onto the Main Street and on the highway, I was just smiling again. Hearing my engine roar and the tranny sounding so good. Gears were shift smoothly and gave me a sense of me being back in the game again, the game of life’s up and downs. But seriously, give Tom the opportunity to make you as happy as he made me recently with my 2014 Honda Accord Coupe/CVT/2.4L
I brought my 1966 Mustang with a 4-speed to this business because the shifting was not feeling smooth. I spoke with Thom who was helpful from the beginning. He test drove the car, diagnosed the problem, provided me a quote that was beyond fair, and kept me appraised every step of the way. There were no hidden fees and my transmission shifts amazing. I’d highly recommend this local business; thanks Thom and staff!!
