Lisa is a fabulous stylist. I was blown away by her expertise, attention, and care. She spent a lot of time understanding me and my hair/lifestyle, and I left with a cut that really exceeded my expectations, and works well for what I can manage moving forward. I was so impressed with her!! I will definitely be back.
Beautiful salon, very happy with my services! The owner is kind, easy to chat with, accommodating, and super talented (does hair for New York fashion week!) -I live out of town but will plan my salon visits here when we have trips downtown from now on.
Update 8/21 Facial with Lexi! 🩷 Lexi gave me an amazing facial. I felt so nurtured and care for during the session. I was so relaxed when it was over I could barely get off the table! Left glowing, calm and peaceful. Hudson styling co is a gorgeous salon where you feel welcomed and cared for. My stylist Raylee was incredible and did such a fantastic job. I even reached out to her prior to my appointment since I was cutting my hair to donate and was worried about the process, she was kind enough to answer all my questions and put me at ease. I absolutely love my new haircut and am thrilled to support a local Detroit business!
I got my hair done yesterday. The atmosphere was great and the stylist was so nice and seemed deeply knowledgeable, but we didn’t book the right amount of time so it was very very rushed at the end. They said they would do more detail work on the haircut when it was dry but less than a minute was spent on it. When I got home I also found a clump of dye tucked into the upper part of my ear. Luckily I wore an old T-shirt, but there’s also now a dye stain on it in the middle of my back. The worst part, however, is that my brown hair is now almost black. I specifically asked for my hair to not look dark and inky, just to be my natural color. My roots are good, but the rest of my hair is so dark and unnatural looking now. Last night multiple people told me it looked like I dyed my hair purple. I told the stylist that I’d gone to salons before to get grays covered with my natural brown color. I did box dye a couple times in high school, but that was over 15 years ago. I don’t know if the wrong color was used or my hair just had a bad reaction to this kind of dye (or both). If it was a reaction, I would have really wanted to know ahead of time that it was a possibility. I’ve never left a google review before, but I’m writing this now because the good reviews helped me choose this place. I’m newish to the city and trying to find a stylist I like the way I had before I moved. I think people should be warned to ask questions about potential bad reactions and double checking the right color dye is being used. While there were so many good things about the service and it seems like a lot of people have great experiences here, this was really upsetting for me. I just wanted natural looking hair.
Kayla F. has done my hair since 2019, she has always hit spot on with what I want. She has a great understanding on what im saying when I dont completely know what i want and is able to make me leave feeling better than how I came in. Shes done full blonding, all my haircuts, highlights, balayage, color correcting from the 10 different rainbow shades back to natural. Amazing stylist!!!
