My family and I had an amazing experience renting from Chris, from the beginning to end. Chris is a fast and easy person to communicate with when scheduling the rental boat and when needed. He had the boat ready to go and is very charismatic, knowledgeable person upon greeting. He made our surprise Mother's day boating trip/picnic all the more special. Between cruising along the river to tubing, everyone had a blast. Thank you so much Chris! Highly recommend this cool guy!

Never buy a boat. Growing up, my dad and I owned an old 19 foot fishing boat. We used it maybe 10 times per year because every time we did, something broke. We had to store it, maintain it, clean it, insure it, and tow it to the ramp. We hardly used it because it was such a hassle. Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of dealing with Chris at Jax Boat Rentals. I rented the 20' Proline dual console. We simply showed up, signed the paperwork, got on the boat and headed off. When we got back, I fueled it back up and walked off. The whole rental cost as much as one month's storage. The Proline ran great, it was clean and well maintained. We had four passengers on board and we fit comfortably. My son had an absolute blast on his first boat ride. I may have even let him drive a little! Why buy a boat and deal with all the hassle and expense when you could just rent from the fine folks at Jax Boat Rentals? They're very professional, convenient, and priced well. I'll definitely recommend to friends and be a repeat customer!

So I made reservations for the pontoon boat, as advertised in the photos on JAXBOATRENTALS. Expecting a joyous occasion with Wife and kids on our Mothers Day voyage. Upon arrival I was met by Chris (The Owner) as he worked on another boat. I inquired as to which boat we would be renting and he said the blue one and decided to move the boat from one dock to another for us to load up. Shockingly, when he got the boat next to the dock it was NOT like the pictures on his website showed. Rather a ducked taped together, Dirty, ripped interior, INFERIOR quality boat he presented for my family and I to use. I talked to Chris out of the presence of his son who was their and my family. I told him the boat is not what he presented on his website for rent and it was unacceptable. Chris said he was shocked and felt bad since no one complained before about the condition of the boat. So we traveled 45 minutes to his place only to not go out for Mothers Day boat ride. Not only did Chris present this boat I would not let anyone I know ride in, when I talked to him in private about the condition of the boat, all I got from Chris was excuses. His reply to the deplorable boat condition was, Hey its a rental what do you expect. I said, What was advertised, a decent boat, not one all taped together, dirty etc. Chris then said to me, Your PICKY. Yes I am. Just like if I rented a hotel room, I expect the bed spread not to be ripped, carpet clean, etc. Not to mention my boat rental was to include a ice chest full of ice, a tube to pull the kids in, of which both were not present. Not sure if false advertising and a BAIT AND SWITCH is a case for certain authorities but this might be the case. Fortunately, we drove some 5 miles away and found a place that rents NEW, Clean, UPDATED Pontoon boats for THE SAME PRICE and the POS we were gonna be stuck with at JAX BOAT RENTALS. See the pictures on his website and the boat as presented to us. This review is based on the boats condition, Not the experience of riding around all day on the St Johns River. Unfortunately, we did not have the riding experience due to the condition of the boat. On a more positive note. Chris did refund my deposit via a check.

Chris is great to work with. This was our first rental and the morning renter was late coming back but Chris made everything right with us. He cleans the boats very well between rentals and makes the whole experience pleasant. We'll be back again.
