Kaizen Academy of Martial Arts in Gilbert bietet Karate-Programme für Kinder von Little Dragons (4–6 Jahre) bis zur Teilnahme am Leadership-Team. Geleitet von Sensei Mike und Sensei Alyssa, verbindet das Studio einen durchdachten Lehrplan mit geduldiger, engagierter Anleitung. My son has been in the little dragons (4-6 year olds) class for almost 6 months now and has been learning a ton from Sensei Mike! Mike does a great job of making each class fun and educational. He has created a thoughtful curriculum that encourages the kids to take on tough challenges, but he’s also super flexible and will sometimes switch it up if the kids ask to play a certain game. Mike is extremely patient with this age group, remembers everyone’s names and greets them as they come on the mat. My son has learned a lot about the life skills Mike teaches during class and has been eager to be more disciplined about showing up that way when he’s not on the mat. We’ve also been surprised to learn some skills we thought our son could do that karate showed us he couldn’t (like balancing on one leg!) which encouraged us all to practice that skill more at home. It’s been such a fun journey, one that my son says he would like to take all the way to black belt! We feel lucky to be a part of the Kaizen family and always recommend them to others.
My son has grown so much here! He can have trouble focusing so this is a great environment for him and he is learning his formations and improving at such a great pace. My favorite part is that while they are firm on respecting martial arts they teach that to students with great a sense of humor and fun. You can tell they all enjoy working with kids and that is clear at every class. Having a great time while learning is so important!
Kaizen has been our son’s karate studio since April of 2023. Sensi Mike and Sensi Alyssa take pride in their craft and pass it along to their students. Sensi Mike has extensive knowledge in martial arts and years of experience teaching which shows through in his lessons. Not only is the entire sensi and leadership team efficient in teaching kids the forms and techniques, they need to know, but also very patient. Our son has gained so much confidence and self discipline since joining. We are so thankful we to have found such a great studio that makes us feel like family. We can’t wait to continue our journey to black belt with the Kaizen team! They truly are the best around!
Amazing martial arts studio! Sensei Mike and Sensei Alyssa are great instructors. Every instructor we’ve had at this studio has been fabulous though. Sensei Mike engages the kids in and out of the studio. My son has learned how to focus, take accountability and be more responsible in class as well as at home. I highly recommend this karate place. He also does fun activities outside of classes for the kids and families/siblings.
We love Kaizen Academy of Martial Arts! When we moved from California I was worried about my son finding a martial art school that would honor his belt from his previous school and would align with what we were used to. We have found that here. Instructors are wonderful and engaging while showing the students that they care. My son is flourishing as a person by taking classes here. I feel that his training here has taught him self confidence, discipline, leadership, and so much more. Martial Arts has even helped him with his ADHD by teaching him to focus and giving him grit to overcome obstacles. He is currently on the Leadership Team here and enjoys giving back and helping other students on their way to black belt. The classes are affordable and never feel pressured to purchase things that aren’t needed. I highly recommend giving them a try if you’re looking for martial art classes for you or your family.
