Service is outstanding from Majestic. I inadvertently bought two wrong bottles at the Ilkley store. Majestic closer to me did the exchange, Sam made sure I got the 'mix 6' price on the exchange and went and got the bottles for me. Many thanks to Sam at the Northside retail park at Meanwood.
Great shop with a nice range of wines. A few years ago they didn't have many wines from Ribera del Duero, just Riojas. In the last couple of years, they been stocking more and more Ribera del Duero which makes me believe they actually listen to customer suggestions. I've used home delivery and click/collect both work great and always on time. Over Christmas they usually have great offers on Champagne and Sparkling wines. If you're unsure, ask the staff they're always helpful and knowledgeable. Never had a bad suggestion or bottle replacement (when out of stock).
Dangerous. After trying a few samples (and buying more than planned as a result of doing so) "would you like a small port while you check out"... Lessons learned, don't go early in the day before breakfast when after a few free samples the pub suddenly seems a good plan and you then get little else done with the day!
Such a great selection which is very unassuming from the window display. They are catering for a broad spectrum of customers to entice them in, so I think I got the wrong impression from what was displayed to the outside world. I was pleasantly surprised when I finally decided to head in. The service is delivered perfectly - the team tailor their conversations in such a way to make you feel comfortable and listened to. Considering they’re working within such a huge floor space, love that someone always whips across as if from nowhere to check in and aid you in your choices. Special mention to Nicky who was such a wonderful ambassador for Majestic, she printed off some tasting notes for the wines we together selected for my evening, which added to the excitement of trying them later on. My thoughts on her selection of Assyrtiko from Santorini are forthcoming (I’ll let you know next time I’m in Nicky). Thanks team :)
