They repaired a part of my roof that another big company messed up and refused to fix. Sunny and his team fixed it, and also patched another problem on my roof at a good price. I didn’t know they were a local small business as they had been referred to me by a neighbor so I was extra happy that not only were they great but I was supporting a nice Oakland built business. Highly recommend them for your roof needs.

With some 30 roofs providing shelter over our property portfolio, my Partner and I have regular need for roofing services. Several years ago our favorite roofer fell out of favor. A realtor friend suggested we consider Master Roofing for our next project. Our first engagement resulted in the installation of a carefully crafted membrane roof which replaced a failing tar and gravel roof, on a single-story, 4-plex in Oakland. Master Roofing owner, Sunny Kwon’s, work ethic, attention to detail and commitment to his finished product, quickly became apparent. Sunny’s focus on delivering a professionally installed roofing system is directly related to his own high integrity and sense of personal responsibility for his roof's performance. Our second experience with Master Roofing was also a smooth one. This time, Sunny installed an asphalt-shingle roof, with Dutch gutters, on our 1920’s Bungalow. His attention to detail around the integrated gutter design gave credence to our belief that we’d found our new regular roofer. On Presidents Day 2017, after weeks and weeks of record rainfall, I called Master Roofing, hoping to leave a message asking for a favor on a property in which water was actively spilling into three levels of finished living space. Sunny actually answered the call (maybe I have his mobile number!) and offered to meet me at the property within minutes. During a steady rain, Sunny inspected the high roof, determined the cause of our problem and made a recommendation. Without question, we needed a full roof replacement, as soon as there was a predictable dry period ahead. Like an answer to one’s proverbial prayers, Sunny’s next project was delayed, the rain paused and by working into the dark until the job was water tight on the second day, he beat the next major storm by only minutes. It all happened so fast and the surroundings were left so tidy, that it didn’t seem like we could possibly have had a new roof installed. This all happened at a time when roofers were in extreme demand and over-booked for weeks to months ahead. Having recently received two 3rd party-generated roofing estimates for this particular roof, not only was Master Roofing’s immediate and accommodating response without compare, it was also the least expensive proposal by a significant margin.
