Couldn’t ask for a better experience! We landed on Mastro’s by luck. We booked our reservation through Google and it was very simple. The hostess’ were very nice and quick to get us to our table. Our server Hallie was amazing! Her timing for appetizers, drinks, and dessert couldn’t have been better. Our cocktail manager Andy was also incredibly awesome, and made sure the drinks we ordered were perfect. We got the bread basket, calamari, bone in ribeye and bone in filet with scalloped potatoes and broccolini. Love music was a vibe too, not too loud and great songs. Overall 11/10 experience, couldn’t have done it better!
All I can say is: GO! It's the best food, service and atmosphere you'll ever experience! Only a slight exaggeration because I haven't been everywhere. To be more specific, I had the petite filet. So tender, juicy and flavorful. That alone is worth the trip. The table had the shared sides of asparagus, brussel sprouts, and macaroni and cheese that was amazing! We finished with the chocolate cake for the birthday boy, and cherry crisp that everyone raved about. I indulged in a lemon drop martini that was touted as being a specialty. They weren't kidding. Just the right amount of sweet and sour, with dry ice to add to the indulgence.
I can't thank Darren enough for making sure that my evening was spectacular. The Pianist that they had their Thanksgiving day was lovely. The calamari the best I've had ever, the Caesar salad with sriracha and horseradish yum and then I have the Cherry crisp
Red Silk - good Elder and Wiser - tasty sugar rim - kind of strong - kind of bitter - don't drink too slow or the sugar rim will be hard to consume Seafood Tower - plump and juicy shrimp - salty crab - good meaty lobster Roasted Bone Marrow - not much bone marrow - bread is crunchy and buttery Nueske's Maple Glazed Bacon Steak - fatty - not much maple flavor Dry aged bone-in ribeye w/ scallops - well crusted - plump and tasty scallops Bone in ribeye - tender Lobster mashed potatoes - buttery - not much lobster, but the pieces are good Broccoli - good - well salted Creamed Corn - tasty French fries - good flavor - not crispy Mastro's warm butter cake - tasty - good balance of warm, cold, crispy, and soft Creme Brulee - not bad Fresh Seasonal Berries - good berries Pecan Pie - good pie
This is the second time I’ve visited Maestro’s at this location. The first time was approximately 20 years ago. I expected the upscale service that.was delivered but the food was far below expectations, especially the 33oz ribeye that was flavorless except for the butter on the plate. The tuna tartare was bland with much too large a portion. The bread basket is an extra charge and even the celebratory chocolate cake had a charge added to the bill?! Overall there are much better fine dining restaurants that you can enjoy in OC, no need to waste time or money here…
