Great, friendly, wide-ranging, and legit sparring partners in both Muay Thai and BJJ. This cool gym provides excellent instruction, clean mats, and has coffee!
I can’t say enough good things about Maverick Training Center. My 5- and 6-year-old boys both go here, and it has been incredible for them, especially my 6-year-old, who is naturally very shy and suffers from pretty severe anxiety. The environment at Maverick is supportive, disciplined, and confidence-building in all the right ways. Ms. Suzanne meet kids where they are, pushes them just enough, and helps them believe in themselves. She has helped my son grow more confident and the difference is just astounding. If you’re looking for a place that truly cares about your child’s development and confidence, Maverick Training Center is it. Hands down.
The gym itself is clean, modern, and visually impressive—definitely one of the nicer MMA facilities I’ve visited in terms of layout and equipment. Unfortunately, the experience stopped there. None of the instructors greeted us, introduced themselves, or offered any guidance the entire time we were there. It felt like we were invisible, which was disappointing given we came in excited to learn and possibly join. To be clear, this isn’t a case of inexperience or unrealistic expectations. One of us is a blue belt with over 4 years of training and has visited more than 15 gyms across different states. Never once has he encountered a situation where instructors didn’t acknowledge new visitors at all. That lack of professionalism really stood out in the worst way. A great-looking space is wasted if the staff doesn’t engage with new faces. First impressions matter, and sadly, this gym missed the mark completely.
I was in town for several months and was glad I found Maverick Training Center. It is my favorite gym where I have trained. The coaches are exceptional; clear in their instruction, and they teach techniques in a logical progression that builds over the weeks, aiding learning. The gym has a safe, supportive, and respectful culture. People look out for their training partners, and I met some great people there. There's a better focus on standup/takedowns than at many gyms, which is essential since competitions and fights start standing. If you're looking for a place to train, definitely check out Maverick.
I have been training Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai at Maverick Training Center since Oct 2022 and I am thankful to have found this place. The gym has a warm and welcoming presence. All of the instructors are professional and extremely competent in their craft. They maintain the cleanest gym that I have ever seen. They offer a variety of different kids and adult classes to choose from. Have found the other gym members to be level-headed rad people that range all ages. If you are interested in learning BJJ or Mauy Thai, either to be competitive, learn self defense, for fitness, or just to have some fun then I highly recommend Maverick.
