I sometimes hesitate to write reviews for places like this because it is so unique and awesome that I don't want other people to know and make it harder for me to get my fix. I come for the cinnamon rolls, but every other thing I have tried is so good I will risk the diabetic coma. The place is small, like no tables or chairs and only room for 3-4 people inside at a time. The guy working the counter is personable and plays 80's alt music so you've got something good to listen too as you wait. In short, go get some. You will not be disappointed
Midtown Bakery has the best cake in Sacramento. Hands down! We ordered ahead of time and picked up three cakes to serve at our wedding. The chocolate cake was decadent.The carrot cake was moist and spiceful. (It does have nuts and they don't do special requests so take that into consideration.) The vanilla was a true classic. Our guests loved all three cakes and even asked where they could get more the next day.
Perfect corn muffin. French puff (like a snickerdoodle muffincake) was fab--and the owner gave me 2-for-1 since it was my first visit. Tahiti coconut cookie was a chocolate chip cookie with coconut oil instead of butter I think, just a hint of coconut flavor. Super friendly service, affordable prices and high quality. Yes there was a line but it moved quickly.
I absolutely LOVE midtown bakery! Always excited to make a quick stop during my lunch break each Friday and check out what goddies they have for the day. Their cherry cheesecake is the best cheesecake I've had in my life..and Carrot cake too. I also like their coconut cake, chocolate cake, and turkey focaccia sandwich. Please support them! They are an absolute gem
I truly stumbled upon this place while out on my morning errands. The owners and bakers were so kind, they gave me a little puff to try for my first time! The corn muffin was incredible, but the stand out to me was the caramel banana bread. Y’all need to be trying this. So moist and sticky in the right ways. Will be back! Love the MB!
