Love the easy access to a skating rink for the public skating sessions. Much rather go here than risk driving into the city. Its about $22/person. It can be a little rough waiting depending on how many people are working. On New Year's there was only 1 person, so 1 person to take the payments and give out skates. Other days are usually quick and easy.
Great kids lessons. But the free skate isn't the best. Too pricey and too many figure skaters circling erratically in the flow of the main loop. At the price, they should really have a skate guard keeping the loop flowing.
My first time yesterday. You will pay $20 for public skating including the ice skate. The ring is ok, good size. One Restroom is closed; A lot of mess around; super unorganized place, you can see hokey equipments around; Not a clean place; I understand that’s a place to training, but it’s a place to visitors as well! Ring size is awesome. Parking: Easy to park, plenty of parking; Fast cashier; Kids who gives you the ice skates was ok; I had fun time with my family. There’s lots of restaurants around, target store if you plan to do something after the ice skating.
Overall, the ice rink is really nice as it's one of the only ones in the San Mateo area that you can safely practice in. With that being said, the rink sometimes runs into small malfunctioning issues and oftentimes you can find one or two dead bugs in the corner of the rink. I have no clue why but it's something you may want to watch out for especially if you're prone to falling. As a frequent visitor of this rink and a figure skater myself, this rink is really nice to have around and the staff (mostly young women) are very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit for both professional skating and recreational skating.
Very disappointed with the ice at this location. It was so difficult to skate since they don’t clean ice for public session after 3 freestyle session. As we arrived the guy didn’t say hi or welcome he just said “did you pay online” I didn’t he then rudely said “$40 make sure pay online next”. All I was thinking won’t be a next time if it was because of you. But my daughter and I love the ice. It’s our spring break and we are going around checking out rinks. This place is so dirty and unorganized plus it’s $20 a person for very little time! All I know is that I’ll never be back and now I know why people drive to away from this rink! I wouldn’t be surprised if this place closed down again who ever runs it needs to clean it up. Get people with better energy and Attitude to work for you too. We left early since the ice was so hard to skate in complete waste of money.
