The food was incredible. Absolutely delicious. They combination of flavors was fantastic, we had many dishes and beverages. We loved everything we ate and drank. I wish they had batch brew, that was on the menu but they no longer serve, but that aside, everything was excellent.
We had a lovely dinner at Omi 380 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. The food was excellent. Our favourites were the Wagyu tataki, which was beautifully done, the egg fried rice, and the grilled okra, which was unexpectedly delightful. Each dish felt well considered and full of flavour. The restaurant has the vibe of a refined Japanese fine-dining venue, yet the prices are very reasonable and offer great value for money. Highly recommend Omi 380 for a date night or a relaxed dinner with friends.
Omi 380 is a fantastic Japanese dining experience right in the heart of Melbourne CBD. Despite being fully booked most days with a 90-minute dining limit, the entire experience felt well-paced and enjoyable. The Wagyu beef don with truffle sauce was the absolute standout. The wagyu was beautifully tender with a rich, buttery texture, and the truffle sauce added a deep, aromatic flavour without overpowering the dish. Every bite felt indulgent yet well balanced. Their sushi was exceptionally fresh, with clean flavours and high-quality ingredients that truly reflect the chef’s attention to detail. You can really taste the freshness in each piece. The drinks were also impressive. The yuzu drink was refreshing and perfectly balanced between citrusy and light sweetness, while the matcha coconut drink was smooth, creamy, and comforting — a unique combination done very well. Overall, Omi 380 delivers high-quality food, thoughtful flavours, and a polished dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for premium Japanese cuisine in the CBD.
The food was delicious. We ordered Ultimate Wagyu with Teriyaki sauce and blackpepper, sushi, dessert, black truffle ramen. The matcha tea was good for me. The black truffle ramen pretty good. The match desserts were yummy. The ice cold matcha with no sugar and no milk was so nice and free. The matha gelato with tiramisu was the best forr me.
I’m so blown away by this place.. who knew that a small entrance with bakery foods along one wall and ice creamery on the other side would lead to a waiting space and a cute wall-shop with Japanese goodies 🤩.. I had to wait for my table, for which I received a WhatsApp notification that it’s ready, but the hostess still called my name.. and wow the restaurant space is another world and it’s buzzing!! And you’re on the clock by the way, 1h30min to be precise. It took me forever to decide because there are so many options! My strawberry matcha latte arrived first and it’s such a delight - perfect balance of earthy matcha, milk and sweetness of strawberry coulis. For the main I chose Premium Sashimi Chazuke - what a unique experience! The sashimi is of course incredibly fresh and the dish comes with a little kettle with a broth, with a little candle underneath to keep it warm. All flavours, textures and addition of the broth was exquisite. Instead of pouring all broth in after tasting sashimi I decided to just alternate between a spoon of sashimi/sauce/wasabi/a bit of rice and a spoon of rice/egg filled with broth. So good and super cute! I could not leave without trying the dessert! The matcha crepe cake and hojicha ice cream were pure perfection 💫 PS. All staff were very helpful and lovely by the way!
