As other reviews have expressed, there are extremely hostile and extractive policies to their customers and their front desk staff is unhelpful to the point of seeming bothered when asked. I registered for 2 classes over the weekend and unfortunately injured my ankle and couldn’t attend them. I cancelled them in advance and expected to be able to use the credits for future classes as is advertised. However, when I went to use them I found the expired at the end of the year (less than 2 weeks from the purchase date). I tried calling, no answer, went to the studio to see if they could make an adjustment, answer is no. So now out $50 which is a lot for me at the moment. It really just feels like they do everything possible to make the most money without care for those they serve.

tldr; toddler class wildly inappropriate - do not sign up Do NOT bring your toddler to classes at Peridance! I signed my kid up for two semesters of Saturday morning classes so that she could move and groove indoors on the weekends in the winter once the weather is gross. Having had good past experiences as a pre-professional and professional dancer, I expected Peridance to provide an age-appropriate movement class that my toddler would love. We attended the first class last Saturday, and it was a nightmare. 18m olds shouldn't be asked to sit down and do butterfly stretches (!!). My kiddo is a super happy kid who loves attending classes, dances around happily at Little Maestros to their live music, and jams with her Dad and I at home. I was expecting a pianist or drummer and some fun, free movement for 45 minutes. Maybe an introduction to some basic stuff, Simon-says style, as the kids became familiar with the teacher/routine and the class progressed. Instead, there was bad iPhone music in the hot basement and it's as if the instructor had never met a toddler before in their life. As someone with a BFA Dance and MS ABA who has worked professionally with kids, my expert opinion is that this class is wildly inappropriate for the age rage advertised. The kids were crying and upset, with us parents holding them. Due to their no-refund for any reason policy, I am out $939 because I'm not forcing my toddler through that again. This class is an absolute money grab, clearly a feeder for more classes in the future. What's worse is because I'm a planner and signed up for/paid for these classes in APRIL, it's too late for me to dispute the charge. Peridance is operating with unethical business practices and should be ashamed of themselves.

i've been going to peridance 1-2x a week for over a year to be in my body (i have a desk job), i've taken a range of classes from hip hop (popping with justin ice-o herbin is awesome) to contemporary with lorena cobos and miho ryu. i really want to shout out their absolute beginner workshop series. any new yorker knows "beginner" dance class in this city is not true beginner. and specifically the ballet series with julia gleich and tiffany mangulabnan were gamechanging. i'd been intimidated to take ballet for years after a horrifyingly embarrassing/depressing experience in a "beginner ballet" class at joffrey. julia and tiffany were both so welcoming, clear in communicating the terms/positions, and didn't make me feel stupid. the dress code was whatever you wish; not stuffy. after taking this ballet workshop series 3x around, i mayyy be ready for regular beginner. please continue offering absolute and regular beginner ballet that is inclusive to adult ballet learners. it's so rare to find in this city and they have genuinely changed my life and helped me with my particular chronic pain. also lorena is one of my fave teachers ever; she encourage us to learn intuitively and to develop move organically rather than just memorizing moves.

I have heard really awesome stuff about this place for dance enthusiasts and can definitely see how inspiration is promoted between these walls. The building by itself is a great view in a great location. When it comes to life performances, there is definitely an extreme amount of talent and devotion all over the place. The operation of this spot as a venue is flawless, no problem getting in or finding seats and everyone on board is really nice. My only comment is towards the chairs, a place with its head as high as this one should really think on the comfort of the seating audience.
