My dog was groomed on a Saturday and upon picking her up I noticed razor burns and cuts on her belly. I called Monday since they are closed Sundays and mentioned my concerns. The receptionist asked me to send photos and the owner would call me. I already knew they would not take accountability just seeing some of the recent reviews. She mentioned that it’s likely my dog has allergies and I just didn’t know. Then when i questioned her she said next time ask for a hypoallergenic shampoo. My dog is 7 with no health issues and is kept indoors and clean …. Never has she been allergic to anything and never to shampoos used an any groomer she’s ever been at. The owner then said it’s maybe bug bites and when I said again that this was when I picked her up on Saturday and she said “well we don’t have bugs here.” Then she offered me basically some Neosporin to put on her and that I should then ask my vet her opinion …. Which I will not be doing unless they can cover her vet visit. Not to mention they added on the fulminator package without telling me or calling me which never occurs. My dog gets groomed regularly and brushed at home. I paid $100 for this service and now my dog is is uncomfortable and in pain. Wish I was atleast offered a portion of my money back or even accountability.

This place should NOT be in business. They(Max)hurt my dog and blame the customer for their inadequacy. Inexcusable. Please do San Antonio a favor and shut down.The owner is a rude elderly woman who is not concerned with the care your pet receives. Check out these pics and see for yourself

The experience at this salon with the groomer Max was TERRIBLE. From the beginning, Max seemed rushed and made me feel like my dog had severe matting, which I didn't contest because I felt rushed but I know he didn't because I trimmed his hair recently. Max didn't go over anything about my dog with me and said he would have to cut it very short without showing any length options. This was our first and last visit. I am irate and disappointed that I trusted this groomer with my dog. He is a 9-year-old labradoodle with a flat coat (not very curly), and they shaved him so close that his butt, inner legs, and genitals were excoriated. My dog is now acting sad and uncomfortable, and I feel terrible. They refused to issue a refund but offered to “fix” the grooming. Even though he has no hair left to fix, aside from uneven straggling patches, the hair that was cut wasn't even cut well! They returned my tip and offered a free bath in the future, but I do not trust taking my dog here again. It was obvious Max was rushing and did not consider my dog’s sensitive skin. When I brought my dog back to show the owner, she tried to make excuses, claiming he was brought in in poor condition, which is not true. If you value skill and care, do not bring your dog here — especially not to Max. I’m fuming.

We love Pet Bath & Beyond! The only groomers I feel comfortable and satisfied taking my dog to, been taking him here for about 6 years now. My baby is always happy and looks perfect afterwards. I love the haircut report card pic they text! All the groomers here have been excellent every time. The front desk staff is always very friendly and accommodating. Today Karen was his groomer and she was wonderful! ☺️✨

I’ve been coming to this groomer for at least 6 years. Sometimes they do an excellent job but lately the quality of the service has been atrocious. On February 13, 2026 took my Yorkie for a full groom. It seems like the groomer this time was either new or does not really know how to style or give a puppy cut to yorkies. She chopped him up so bad that he now looks like a chichuahua. His face doesn’t have shape nor form. It seems she just grabbed the clippers at went crazy. I called back and instead of giving me a refund for the horrible job, they simply said I’m sorry. Pathetic. They lost a great customer.
