The young female associate with the black and green hair did not know what she was doing. We asked her where the prescription food was and she had no idea and we had to find it our self. Idk if she was on something, judging from her appearance but she was rambling when we were checking out and dropped flyers at the registers prolonging the long line behind us. They need to train their employees better and this associate needs to work on her professionalism.

I took my dog Maui to get a haircut. This is the only place that cuts her hair. The manager is the only person she would let cut her hair. Or should I say fur this particular day? They were busy and my dog is a little anxious so I got to call 5 minutes after dropping her off and the manager told me to come get her cuz she snapped at her. I feel like she just didn't want to do it cuz she was overbooked and they pretty much banned my dog from coming back so I don't like them no more

This store is surprisingly nice. The staff is always super friendly, it always clean including the fish section (which can be traumatic in these chain pet stores) Also shout out the girl who helped me with tattoos in the fish section she was very nice I didn’t get her name!

I used to travel to Petco in alameda for my cat, fish and bird supplies until i noticed that petsmart have the things i need and 2 blocks away from my house. I come to this place on an average 5-6 times a month where staff are familiar of me. I brought my cats to the groomers and Nicole is truly exceptional, very patient with my first-time groomed felines. Today, the only staff i can see(and hear) by the fish aisle whom i asked for assistance said her name is ------. She wont sell me the fish i wanted because my 11 gal tank is not big enough for a small molly where my bettas(pair) are in. My bettas along with 3 mollies have been with me for 7 months now. They never attacked each other that is why i decided to add one more of a different color. She refused the sale. I told her what if i put them in a fish bowl(with oxygen/filter) and heater. She said it is not big enough. Ohhh..I realized she was doing the big bin garbage as she could have been the cleaning lady... THEIR BETTAS ARE CRAMPED IN A SMALL CUP AND A HUNDRED GOLDFISHES IN A 10gal TANK and she's telling me my 3gal fishbowl is not big enough? Then she started lecturing me about the safety of the $5 molly while pointing at the wall of cramped spaces their fishes are in. I became a VIPP tier customer in less than a month. I rather go to Alameda where knowledgeable staff are highly sensible and are never rude to their customers. More reviews in yelp and other social media.

The 5 star is for grooming department I just took my 5 month old maltipoo here to get groomed for her first time and Nicole S. did an amazing job!!! Thank you so much for taking good care of my baby I love her haircut and she smells so good😍🥹 (before and after pics ↓)
