I have come to love Pilates! Allison’s whole team are caring and knowledgeable about all they have to offer. I appreciate that Allison changes up my routine based on my joints and how I am feeling that day. I also like that I am always being pushed to go to the next level. Always feel strong when I leave!
I've been attending group classes here for a year and I'm having so much fun. The packages are super affordable and allow me to pick time slots that work with my ever-changing schedule. I've never had a bad instructor there and they all bring a slightly different flavor to practice which means I'm learning a lot. I've definitely noticed a difference in my strength and posture and have less shoulder and back pain.
I've been going to Pilates Detroit 2-3 times a week for the last two years and I could not recommend it more highly! These classes have reshaped and strengthened my body, and diminished or completely eliminated chronic joint and muscle pain. The instructors are meticulous about form and safety. I take regular classes with Beth and she is kind, highly skilled, and an incredible instructor. I have also taken classes with the owner, Allison, who is amazing! The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming to everyone. I would recommend Pilates Detroit to all, from beginners (like I was) to highly experienced students, and everyone in between. There's a reason why Pilates Detroit has won Hour Magazine Best of Detroit-Pilates Classes so many times!
I love Pilates Detroit! They have been very attentive and thoughtful in figuring out how I can do Pilates despite my various physical challenges, which include a variety of structural issues as well as being "curvy". They have helped develop adaptive methods for me and helped me significantly improve my mobility and strength. They have supported me through joint replacement and always cheer my progress. I came to Allison for physical therapy rehab after hip replacement surgery. We meet twice a week for 1:1 appointments and I take group classes two more times per week. It’s been three months and the weakness experienced on the surgical side is going away, replaced by stronger core and better pelvic balance. The progress is tangible and very rewarding.
