Very nice place with a fairly busy but relaxed atmosphere. Not cheap, but with food and service of this quality you wouldn’t expect it to be. Of course the steaks are top notch and the huge triple-cooked fries are insane - in a good way! I also had some of the best oysters I’ve had in quite a while - perfectly shucked, as cold as they should be and both types (Beausoleil and Pink Moon) were delicious. Of course we had the tallow candle and absolutely loved it. I can’t agree with the few reviewers here who found it underwhelming - it was a delicious variant on the traditional oil/balsamic/bread combo and went really well with the oysters. Must also give a big recommendation for “Riri’s Chicken”, which takes fried chicken to the next level. Highly recommended.
We were excited to try Pivot since changing from Mahogany Steakhouse. The 4 of us loved the atmosphere. Was a little brighter and modern while still keeping it classy. Our waitress (Michelle) was very knowledgeable and friendly giving us the background and recommendations on food and drinks. We tried the beef tallow bread appetizer and felt it was underwhelming. The olive bread was great while the beef tallow candle was a bit blah. All of our drinks were fabulous (lychee martini, donkey kongs brew, chocolate espresso martini). The Cesar salad was very flavorful. The salmon lacked flavor, and the manhattan steak was just ok. The Brussels sprouts, asparagus, and chicken mousseleline were our favorite dishes. As was the seasonal apple crumble, vanilla bean crème brulee, and chocolate mousse cake! Overall excellent evening!
Pivot Prime is easily one of the most creative and memorable dining spots in Omaha. The vibe is fresh, energetic, and unapologetically inspired by hip hop culture — from the playlist to the plating. I loved how the menu pays homage to artists in such a clever way. The chicken appetizer named after Rihanna was fire — perfectly crispy, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. Every dish felt like it had its own rhythm and story. You can tell the chef and team put serious thought into creating something different for Omaha’s food scene. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an elevated yet fun dining experience that hits all the senses.
As big fans of the old Mahogany that was in this space, we were excited to try out Pivot Prime. Unfortunately, we don't feel like the quality of the food or experience is at the Mahogany level, especially since Pivot Prime is charging the same prices. First, even though we had a reservation for a month, we were given the worst table in the house upon arrival, right next to the door which had a chilly draft. We were sad to see that Pivot Prime remodeled the old space and got rid of all of the nice booths this restaurant used to have. We got smoked old fashioneds for drinks and they were phenomenal, definitely best thing of the night! We ordered filet mignons with seafood (grilled prawns for my husband, lobster for me), and both of the steaks were cooked differently even though we ordered both medium. My steak was more of a nice pink true medium and his was practically well done - this discrepancy shouldn't happen at a high end steakhouse. As for the prawns and lobster, DO NOT ORDER SEAFOOD AT THIS RESTAURANT! Pivot Prime has no idea what they are doing with seafood and both of those items were so overcooked that they were tough and rubbery. Just super bad. The sides were also meh, I got the "crack fries," and I was very disappointed to find that they weren't fries at all and were potato wedges. My husband got the mashed potatoes and they were fine, nothing to write home about. Portions were surprisingly small for the price. I will also mention that no staff member came to check on us to see how we were enjoying our meals once they arrived. They also did not have us cut into the steaks after they delivered them to ask if they were cooked to our specifications, which is what we have grown to expect from high-end steakhouses. We will not be back. For your money, go across the street to Mahogany and get great service and food over there.
I would do 10 stars if I could!!! Been to PIVOT Prime a few times and finally taking a moment to share my feedback! Absolutely incredible! I took my oldest daughter her for daddy daughter date and then my mother and most recent had a chance to check out their lunch menu and HOLY COW!!! It’s incredible! We have 6 dishes and split them amongst our table and they all were incredible. Most recently me and a buddy had dinner and he got the fancy old fashion and this presentation was out of this world! Enjoy the video and keep up the amazing work Chef Joel, Jeremy, Brooke and TEAM!!!
