Took the ATV out for the first time, went to Prairie City. Great place to ride, lots of trails. The other riders we came across were very friendly and helpful in answering questions about where to ride, will definitely be going back to finish brake-in of the ATV.
Great place for all to Ride. There are kids tracks for different stages of riding. Plus trails to ride on. A little rocky, but still fun.
It would be nice if there was camping or they open later, I'm surprised how cheap it is, it's only five dollars a vehicle and free if you have a golden bear pass! It's shocking how big the place is because I thought I knew how big it was before when I went there about 30 years ago, if you have small four-wheel drive like a side-by-side or a quad you can go just about everywhere out there! They have a lot of events out there including Hangtown!
This place is great! There are some parks charging 15 dollars and they are nowhere near as big or rider friendly than Prairie city. They keep it up and it is very clean here. They maintain this place fairly well and have designated areas depending on the type of vehicle, the age, and track vs free roam. The Rangers posting up at different areas watching people is a little off putting but also understable considering they want to make sure everyone is safe and following the rules. As long as they don't harras people and let people have fun, there's nothing to worry about. I highly recommend coming here if you like to ride in designated areas that are meant for off road fun!
