I had a terrible experience with Pristine Painters and would never recommend them. Jose is an awful communicator, completely unreliable, careless, and refuses to take accountability for his mistakes. Today, (8/21/25) him and his workers were supposed to come back and paint our living room, after I spent hours moving items off of furniture, clearing space, and taking pictures off the walls. Instead, I find out he’s not coming because he “didn’t receive payment.” That’s it? You just don’t show up without telling the customer?His payment system was confusing, and at no point did he offer to guide me through it or clearly explain that I needed to take further action. Even if there was a payment issue, a professional would have reached out to say “I can’t come unless payment is made.” Instead, he said nothing and just didn’t show up, wasting my time and effort. That is unprofessional, unacceptable and so rude. This is not even the first time. The very first time I contacted him to assess the job, he never showed up. He later apologized, and I gave him grace, but clearly this is a pattern. When they painted the bedrooms last month, they rushed through the job, got paint on the floors, and when I texted Jose about it, he read the message and ignored me for an hour before finally responding. No accountability, no professionalism. On top of that, his workers were flirty and unprofessional, which was extremely uncomfortable. Overall, Jose and his team are unreliable, inconsiderate, and careless with their work. If you value professionalism, communication, and respect for your time, stay far away from Pristine Painters. Edit: regarding the owner’s response. He did not communicate that he was not going to show up. He is taking advantage of my mother (an elderly woman) and told me that to let me know that he isn’t coming because of non payment would be like reminding a child. That is anything but respectful. Like I said before, the payment process was confusing and he should have told me what to do instead of no showing. That is completely unprofessional. And when his workers (Fernando) offer to kiss my hand and say, “anything for you baby,” no that is not conducting yourself appropriately. If Jose would have chosen to take responsibility for his actions and make things right instead of blaming me and referring to me as a child, I would not have been so disappointed. But he chose to be passive aggressive, not communicate, not explain how the payment process works and talk down to me and not hear me out and tell me he will not do business with me anymore.

One of the best experiences I ever had with a contractor. I made an appointment and Jose was at my house basically the next day. He gave us an estimate that broke down every part of the house I needed it painted so we could find a solution that best worked with our budget. All in all the price was very fair and included the price of labor and the paint. He and his workers were always very punctual, polite, and professional. The work they did was well done and our walls look great. They left the house as clean as a job can be done. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again.

When I first reached out to Jose, my wife was 39 weeks pregnant with a due date one day prior to the closing of our first apartment purchase; a fixer upper co-op unit. Needless to say, I was a little stressed and had a lot on my plate but thankfully, getting my apartment painted was not an issue I had to worry about. Jose was able to give me a quote with my floor plan, and his color consultation perfectly guided my wife and I through this new experience. In a few short days, Jose's team, led by project manager Fernando, COMPLETELY transformed our unit into a dream home for our new family. They sanded down doors, fixed water damaged areas around windows, and just went way above and beyond in every facet. In addition to all of that, Fernando identified a plumbing issue that we were able to address immediately before it became a bigger issue. I truly can not say enough good things about them and will HAPPILY return to them for all of my painting needs and whenever the opportunity presents to make a recommendation. They did an outstanding job. We had multiple issues that needed correcting. We had previously textured walls, water damage in multiple locations, and peeling paint from previous jobs completed poorly by our building management. The entire apartment was skim coated then painted. We had a couple of unforeseen issues that extended the job. We were grateful that they were able to accommodate our scheduling issues. We expect to live with this paint job for the next twenty years.
