This is the only groomer we will use for our dogs. We moved away from this area and tried another groomer near us and we immediately regretted it. We now make the drive to come to puppy love because of the way they actually care and love the animals. Thank you guys for always taking care of our fur-babies! 10 out of 10 recommend!!!

Have brought both our small dogs here for a few years since we’ve been coming to Mesa. Always been pleased with the service and the experience.

A short while ago, we used Puppy Love Pet Grooming exclusively for grooming our dog. Initially, things seemed fine, but over time, each visit became increasingly distressing for our dog. She would become extremely anxious, shaking, whining, and outright refusing to enter the building. Due to this growing anxiety, we decided to try a different grooming service, where our dog appeared much more comfortable for the past 18 months. Recently, however, the new groomer was fully booked for several weeks, so we decided to give Puppy Love another chance. We managed to get an appointment quickly, and on arrival, our dog didn’t seem as nervous as before. The staff were friendly upon our arrival, which was a positive sign. After the grooming was completed, we picked her up and, due to multiple dogs in the lobby and our dog’s known reluctance around other dogs, we hurriedly grabbed the leash and left. Unfortunately, we neglected to thoroughly check her before leaving. Once home, it became alarmingly clear that the grooming job was far below our expectations. The haircut was extremely uneven, with no hair on the chest, completely shaved down to the skin, while other parts appeared barely touched. Our dog’s muzzle was trimmed at three or four different lengths, and the ears were cut way too short and uneven. Hair was trimmed around one eye but completely missed the other. Parts of the muzzle had hair standing on end, contrasting sharply with areas trimmed tightly. The grooming was spotty and lacked consistency entirely. In my opinion, it was the worst grooming job I have ever seen. Attempts to contact Puppy Love to express our dissatisfaction were unsuccessful, as no one answered their phone. Given that the only course of action now is to let our dog’s fur grow back, we plan to return to our preferred groomer as soon as they have availability. One thing is certain: we will never return to Puppy Love Pet Grooming, nor will we recommend them to anyone. In summary, while the initial friendliness of the staff was encouraging, the overall experience was marred by the poor grooming quality and the inability to communicate with the business afterward. This experience highlights the importance of both skilled workmanship and customer service in pet grooming. In our opinion, due to the distress it caused our dog and the subpar results, Puppy Love Pet Grooming does not meet the standards we expect or recommend. Please keep in mind this is our opinion based on our experience. You may experience different results.

I took my goldendoodle here for the first time for a groom and bath. They asked if I wanted a short trim and teddy bear face cut, I agreed with it still being hot outside. When I picked him up, I was in such shock because he was shaved almost to the skin and was not cut evenly. It was choppy to say the least. I have never been upset about a dogs haircut, until now. Poor guy is completely bald on his stomach and is itching from the short shaved hair with random longer hairs that they missed. I paid before I saw him because I thought what is the worst that could happen. I had no idea that they would have exceeded in doing more terrible than I could have imagined. I believe in tipping generously, coming from a service industry. I ignored my gut to see the pup first before paying since I was in a rush to run back home for another work meeting. I was speechless when they brought him out. He was unrecognizable and I was so upset, I didn’t even know what to say. I called after calming down for 5 min in the car with him. They didn’t answer. They did call me back the next morning. The girl who was on the phone was quietly listening to my concerns and disappointment. The woman who groomed him was in the background and told me that I was exaggerating and that I could bring him to “fix him”. He is already bald, why would I let them cut anymore hair off of him. I told them that I would at the very least expect my $20 tip to be returned and would appreciate a refund of some sorts for the bad experience. The women in the background loudly commented that I should just find another groomer and dismissed my concerns of how bad he looked, his discomfort and the risk of sunburn that he now has. They said they would call me back about giving me my tip back but never did. Not surprised. I’m sad to say that as much as I hate to write negative reviews, I feel like I have a responsibility to share the poor customer service and lack of thoughtfulness they put into their job. Would love other recommendations to a skilled and friendly groomer.

This is only our second time at Puppy Love pet grooming. I was referred by neighbors who love this salon, and our first visit, grooming + $10 spa add on was great. My small 14 lb Coton DeTulear came looking fabulous. Today, unfortunately, was a whole different story. Shamus not only didn't want to go in, as if he was spooked, but he came out after having been groomed scared & looking like he'd been weed whacked with stray hairs sticking out everywhere. So, $48 to traumatize my fur baby & a three year old could have done a better job. Mind you, he has been to several groomers over the last few years and has NEVER refused to go into an establishment, as he did today. I had to pick him up & carry him for the first time ever... I should have followed my gut & honored his instincts. Unfortunately, our favorite pet grooming salon here in Mesa went out of business, and I've been trying to find a local pet groomer with the same high standards. Puppy Love is sadly not even in the same hemisphere. See for yourself in the pictures I took within minutes after arriving home.
