We booked this restaurant to celebrate my partner’s birthday and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we walked in until we left, the service was outstanding. We sat at the chef’s counter and, despite it being a bit smoky at times, it actually added to the experience. With the freezing weather outside, the warmth from the wood fire was a welcome bonus. Every dish was excellent, but the standout favorites were the Bluefin tuna and the Newfoundland scallops. The team works in perfect sync—efficient, calm, and seamless, even with very little verbal communication. To finish, we ordered the Coconut Nicuatole dessert, and our server John went above and beyond by bringing us a complimentary guava sorbet. I’m not usually a dessert person, but that sorbet was outstanding and completely won me over. Thank you for making his birthday celebration truly memorable. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This restaurant honestly made me question the credibility of Michelin stars altogether. Yes, the food is fine, but fine is not what a Michelin star is supposed to represent. There were no “wow” moments, no emotional reaction, no flavor journey. Just… food. We did the tasting menu, which should have been the highlight, but instead it felt safe, muted, and oddly forgettable. For a restaurant drawing from Latin American cuisine - one of the most vibrant and expressive in the world - the flavors were shockingly bland and basic. I gave it 4 stars not because it deserves a Michelin star, but because I’ve been to places that actually earned theirs and this simply isn’t one of them. The food here is tasty, but so is the food at countless restaurants without stars. The ambiance is enjoyable and does a lot of the heavy lifting. Service was prompt, though some of the staff seemed to repeat words they didn’t fully understand, charming in its own way, but not exactly reassuring. In short: pleasant evening, decent food, great atmosphere… but Michelin-level? Absolutely not.

It was our first time at Quetzal and we went with the curated menu, totally worth it! We got to try 12-13 dishes, and it turned into such a memorable culinary experience. The staff and service were exemplary, honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. They were incredibly thorough and attentive throughout the entire meal. My favourite items were the scallops and bone marrow, and the coal roasted potato was a pleasant surprise, the ceviche was unique and different, and the cocktails were fantastic as well! For next time, now we know we will order,but for a first visit, I’d highly recommend the curated menu.

Elevated Mexican cuisine that didn't always hit the mark. Nothing was bad, but only one dish was really spectacular and a few things that should have been great were just good. The raw fish appetizers for example were all over seasoned. The dessert (a chocolate mousse) was outstanding though. The lighting was a bit too dark for some of the dishes that really only came alive visually when you shine a light on them. I would have given them five stars if their prices were lower than they are, but at the price they set you should get something really unique and great.

Superb! The food, service and ambience were impeccable. We sat at the chef’s bar situated in front of the fireplace which was great to be able to see all the action, but be warned it does get a little bit hot. We went with the curated chefs menu and it was delicious. Our favourite was the bone marrow with shrimp, Hokkaido Scallops and the cod. The espresso martinis were one of the best we’ve had. I can see how this restaurant has received a Michelin star 4 years in a row. Well deserved!
