I like R.E.I. But it's prices are higher than I Prefer. I had a membership with them, years ago. But have allowed it to lapse. They have a huge inventory from A to Z. In camping, hiking, walking, etc it's worth the visit, but you have to have deep pockets.
I usually have great experiences at REI and the staff is always super helpful. This time, someone even went to the back to help me find what I needed — which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the person who checked me out wasn’t very friendly. I asked a couple of questions and she seemed annoyed, which made the interaction uncomfortable. It’s not what I’m used to from REI, so it was disappointing. I might think twice before coming back to this location.
REI is a great outdoor store, I’ll be at not quite as good as it used to be 30 or 40 years ago. It’s become more upscale and consumer oriented rather than catering solely to the needs of hard-core climbers, kayakers, backpackers, and cyclists. But it’s OK, it’s a company trying to make money they still sell and produce good quality outdoor gear and they’ve got a tremendous return policy to back everything up.
REI – Northeast Highway, Dallas, TX This REI location is clean, well-organized, and has everything you need for camping and outdoor adventures. From tents and sleeping bags to hiking gear and travel accessories, they’ve got it all in one place. I also love that they carry one of my favorite chocolates—it’s a small touch, but it makes the visit even better. Definitely a great spot for outdoor lovers!
Always such a great experience. Everyone is super nice. Went to get climbing shoes, beginner over here, and the lady that helped us wasn’t very knowledgeable in climbing but she went above and beyond helping us. We stayed there for 2 hrs trying multiply shoes. They have a great return policy if you become a member so definitely recommend becoming one. One of my favorite stores for everything outdoors. I also got my hiking boots here. They even have this little wall next to the shoes so you can test them! ☺️
