Stopped in while passing through St Louis- it was busy for a Saturday brunch but have the option to join the waitlist online which is convenient. I ordered a Carmel Apple latte that was DELICIOUS- I had the pork slinger which was an amazing conglomeration of toast, eggs, sausage and bacon with homemade gravy on top- it also came with tasty potatoes on the side. I didn’t know what to expect from a “slinger” but was pleasantly surprised -others in our group had the Pork Slinger, zucchini scramble (for the vegetarian). Rooster slinger and Farmers platter- all delicious! We all shared a strawberry and cream crepe for dessert. Parking was easy and prices affordable.
Anytime I come into STL, this will forever be my first stop! Rooster has a great environment, the best breakfast, & the people are so kind. Especially Jake. You’re awesome Jake!!! 100/10 service! I get the goat cheese, pesto, bacon scramble. It’s my go to & will probably be yours after you have it too.
The service was ok but somewhat inattentive. The zucchini crepe had a great combination of flavors (zucchini, mushrooms,Swiss cheese and onions) and was quite satisfying though not too filling. The crepe itself was really just a wrap for the contents. When compared to the crepes of a street vendor in France, they are unacceptable, lacking the expected moistness and texture. Regarding the lemon crepe, the lemon curd was excellent, however the addition of blueberries and granola/graham crackers detracted from the lemon flavor and added to excessive competing flavors and sweetness in a mediocre crepe. The coffee was excellent.
Have been a loyal patron however this location has gone significantly downhill. We ordered crepes which were so disgusting we couldn’t eat them. The server, who was extremely nice had the manager (Sam) come over to help with the issue and he dismissed us saying they are supposed to be that way and was extremely rude to us. We will not be back which is very sad since we used to come here all the time. It’s obvious there is a problem with the manager that needs to be corrected. Overpriced and we left with empty bellies with no compensation.
Our first time eating out in St. Louis, and things were already looking up! We found this spot just 45 minutes before arriving in town. Being selective, especially on a holiday when many places were closed, this one stood out—not only was it open, but it had great reviews. So, we decided to make the extra 20-minute drive past our hotel to give it a try and officially kick off our weekend. The kids were still tired and cranky from the drive up from Tulsa (sorry to the staff who had to deal with their hangry faces). But once the food hit our table and the coffee started doing its job, we could finally muster up some smiles and proper thank-yous! From the moment we pulled into the parking lot and walked toward the entrance, the place gave off a warm, welcoming vibe. The atmosphere inside was modern, stylish, and thoughtfully put together. Every server we saw seemed energized and upbeat, darting around with a smile—it added to the good mood we were starting to settle into. Just one small thing to mention: I stopped by the bathroom on the main floor and noticed the soap dispenser was empty and there were no paper towels. As I was leaving, a kitchen employee happened to be walking out... So it left me wondering—if there was no soap or paper towels, how exactly did he wash his hands? I know I might be a little picky about stuff like this, but cleanliness is a big deal to me—as it should be for everyone, especially in a restaurant setting. That aside, thank you all for the awesome experience. This was a great start to our St. Louis weekend!
