I had an unplanned appointment in Hamilton which got delayed so I went looking for a diner and decided to try Rosales based on Google reviews. I wasn't sure of its ethnicity but it seemed eastern Euro. It was bigger than I expected, but when I saw the kitchen it looked a bit too clean. Not clinical, but more either never been used or they try to clean up well so it's not a greasy spoon hole into the wall. I got the Rosie's plate, mainly to try the Russian slaw (based on a review) and the euro sausage. The dish did not disappoint - everything was surprisingly good, even the bread (maybe I had low expectations, and just read the bread is Artisanal), and I do not care for Tots but was surprised and ate them all. And the bacon was decent. Definitely planning to visit again when in the area. It almost felt like a little euro escape or a great blend with our culture.
Such a great vibe and menu and such friendly staff. Highly recommend!! Particularly enjoyed the breakfast and sprinkle ice cream for dessert. Definitely recommend going earlier than you want to eat if you are going during brunch on the weekend because this spot is popular and there is a bit of a wait. They texted us when our table was ready and made the process really easy.
Really good breakfast food! They load your plate! 4 links of breakfast sausage! The beans were something different, I really liked them. More like butter beans than breakfast beans, and we’re in this really delicious tomato sauce. I also really liked the Russian slaw! Tots instead of fries is a great idea, I was definitely a fan. The pancake was soft and fluffy. My only complaint is that it’s a bit in the pricier side, but you pay for quality!
Rosales was a beautiful surprise for a brunch on our weekend walk, passed en route to Chedoke Trail. The space had a lot of room for the brunch rush! A cute diner experience, the staff very welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent, couldn’t have been happier with the portion size to the jam for toast ! All around a nice and tasty option if you’re looking for a cost effective brunch option, would highly recommend. Street parking for those who drive too, though a great place to end a great hike 👌😊
Had a nice breakfast here. Slightly more elevated than your average dinner; ingredients were of good quality. Really liked the Greek beans and the euro sausage with the breakfast. Our table also had the yoghurt bowl, which was good as well. They only have drip coffee - no espresso based drinks. And decaf was instant coffee only; which is fine , but $4 for instant coffee a bit much. Other than that we liked the place and will try again
