I had a really disappointing experience with Lucien as my driving instructor. He was impatient, frequently raised his voice, and didn’t put in the effort to actually teach or explain techniques. As a learner, you expect guidance and encouragement—but instead, he assumed I should already drive like a professional and got angry over even small mistakes. This completely shook my confidence right before my test, and I ended up failing my first attempt. I later switched to another driving school, where I received proper instruction and support—and passed without issues. Overall, I found his attitude unprofessional and not suited for teaching beginners. I would not recommend him if you’re looking for a patient and supportive instructor.

If I could put 0 start I would. I payed around 14 classes to drive with Lucien and my experience was the worst experience I could ask for. He would constantly yell at me and explain me nothing, he would personally insult me and tell me that I would purposely drive badly when it was my first time driving. I 100% don’t recommend the driver Lucien, the good reviews have to be fake because I’m surprised on how he’s even allowed to give lessons. He would also overcharge me and come 20 minutes in advance and get mad when I don’t arrive instantly. I would also usually drive less than a full hour. If you think about taking driving classes here only do it if you are ready to get yelled out and insulted.

I am sharing my personal experience with this driving school, specifically with the instructor Lucien. From my first lesson, the learning environment felt very stressful. As a beginner, I expected calm and structured guidance. Instead, many corrections were delivered by shouting. Being yelled at for beginner mistakes made it very hard to focus and build confidence. Before my driving test, I was repeatedly told in a raised tone that I would not pass. Hearing that right before the exam significantly increased my stress. After I failed, the feedback felt discouraging rather than constructive. During lessons, there were frequent distractions such as phone calls and social media videos playing while I was driving. As a new driver, I felt that full attention and focus would have been more appropriate. I also paid for one-hour sessions, but some lessons felt shorter than expected. There was a billing discrepancy at one point, which was later corrected, but it added to my concerns. Over time, instead of gaining confidence, I became more anxious. Learning to drive is already stressful, and the constant shouting and intensity made it much harder for me. Based on my experience, I would not choose to take lessons with Lucien again. I am sharing this so other beginner drivers can make an informed decision.

This is a very late review but I was reminded of my awful experience with this school in 2024. I was a complete first time driver and had my class with Alexa. The instructor was very argumentative and I just felt like I was an Uber dropping off the previous student back near MIT campus (we were starting in Somerville) with her and the previous student talking for half the time. I had never been behind the wheel before and they had me going through a stressful rotary at night during traffic within 5 minutes of starting to drive. There was no lesson, I was just terrified the whole time and did not even want to speak out of fear of another argument beginning. I was so terrified of driving after this and did not resume lessons until the next month. I did not book another class with them. I booked with Ed from Mystic Driving School afterwards that was MUCH more patient, took me around suburb roads, and talk me all the driving maneuvers I needed to know. I learned more in 5 minutes with him than I did during my entire lesson with Shammah. And then for my actual test sponsor I used Times Driving School and passed on the first try.

This school is rude as I don't know what. I literally just got the phone with I don't know who because whoever was on the other line didn't have enough courtesy, respect, or even decency to introduce themselves as I formally did myself. One thing for certain and two things for sure is I don't tolerate disrespect or any type of rudeness from anyone regardless who you are. Everybody gets treated equally, fairly, and respectfully as it should be both ways because that's how I grew up and what was taught. Would've loved to do business but again disrespect is a no go all the way.
